Re: Mother of all tanks! Wiz @ Bobcats 7 PM
One of the best half of ball I have seen from Wall ever. He really ran the offense. Great passing. 8 assists and that doesnt count the passes he made that set up passes from other players for layups.
Now thats how you do it.

I can't believe he was available this late in the season. I understand he's playing the Bobcats, but Singleton is a solid front court bench player. Charlotte, at least, could have used him.
I heard he went to China because he didn't want to be just a bench player, chose to be an all-star in China (and everything that comes with it) instead of a role player in NBA

From the archives:
Singleton leaves Wizards for China.
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizard ... zards.html
Brief synopsis:
Not interested in lowball minimum offers and being stuck on the bench. More money and playing time in China.

Has anyone kept actual numbers on Wall's end-of-quarter shots?
I'd be real interested to see an actual factual statistic for how terrible he is.

Cartier is so much better than Chris Singleton, that I think Singleton could go play abroad, come back and play in the D-League; and in 3 years Cartier would still be the better player.
John Singleton looks tremendous. He's obviously playing a bit over his head this game, but he's better than Ves or Singleton, by a lot.
I love Vesely this game, though.

If he doesn't get to the rim or draw contact, he doesn't score. I would love to see him grow more mature and play smarter at the end of quarters. Wall is the ultimate ball stopper at the end of quarters. Unacceptable when Martin is on the floor and the bigs are killing it inside.

His 82games.com clutch stats are atrocious and his eFG% in crunch time is 0%....

The thing with it is that I absolutely love the move he pulls off to get the shot. It creates a LOT of separation between him and his defender. He just isn't a good enough jumpshooter. If he can refine the jumpshot this off-season, he'll be fine.

Singleton wanted to be a starter, thats why he went overseas. He said he would rather start then get paid in the NBA. There was a article where he was interviewed about it a while ago. Only way they could have keep him was the guarantee he would start.
As for this year. He just got in the country a couple weeks ago. Played a few DL games and EG grabbed him up.

miller, for once I'm going to see the good about Wall and agree with you.
Wall does everything well at the end of quarters except hit the shot. I agree with you that he gets separation. He breaks guys down and gets them off balance.
All Wall needs to do is really, really, really put time on his shot. Seems to shoot it just a bit short from short and too strong for deep. Just doesn't have the follow through that's consistent. I can't see how he misses so consistently.

Lock him in the gym this off-season. Maybe slide some poptarts under the door every once in a while.

That runs counter to what I've read & heard. I heard he wanted to stay but Ernie wasn't interested in offering a guaranteed deal.

Jan -- the Velvet Revolution! Kid is really athletic. Too bad about his shot outside of two feet.

Hard to believe J Singleton would prefer playing in China to being a valuable part of a front court rotation [and a millionaire] in the United States.

Nope. He wanted to start and be a core part of a team. I'm sure the link to the article is in the old James thread.

He was a rotation bench player in the NBA.
He wanted to be a valuable part of team. He loved the game and he wanted to play and said he would take less money and go to China to do it.
