Do we really need that?

Cigamodnalro wrote:Magic players started calling him JaBron McJames because of his passing out of the SF spot (which he had never played before this season). McRoberts drove me crazy with some of his 3's and those flashy passes that sometimes didn't work out. One team's color commentator earlier this year said that Josh McRoberts will give you 3 WTF plays a game, one of which will work out. I thought that was pretty accurate. The guy is fun to watch though, when things are going right, and deserves a chance before free agency.

We've got a starting C who can't shoot twos? Do we need that? This obviously was not a basketball trade for us. It was a money trade. We save ~$300k by paying McRoberts less for the remainder of the year than we would have paid Warrick. And the Magic get a chance to rent Warrick and decide if they have any interest in exercising the team option for next year. Something we obviously weren't going to do since we already have a skinny 4 that relies solely on athletic ability - TT.

Provide a source.
In a separate trade, Orlando also acquired forward Hakim Warrick and cash considerations from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for forward Josh McRoberts.
McRoberts’ contract, which expires after this season, pays him nearly $3.2 million. Warrick makes $4 million this season, and the Bobcats are sending some cash to Orlando to make up the difference in salaries.
while the Magic sent Josh McRoberts to the Charlotte Bobcats for cash considerations. Orlando technically received Hakim Warrick from Charlotte, but it will waive Warrick in order to free a roster spot.
