the pacers were about as bad a matchup as the knicks could get. (add memphis, a complete OKC, an maybe the spurs to a short list). we had nothing for their size. felton couldn't get into the lane with

ironically enough, i think felton, and the team as a whole, would have looked a lot better in a series against the heat.

everyone looked bad against the pacers. can't single ray out here. felton is not all-world, but he's a solid player who had a very solid year despite his injuries.

i have no problem going forward with ray, unless something better comes along. otherwise, i don't consider him the problem.

Felton had a few bad games in Indy, but other than that had a great playoffs.

The thing is, he's going up against Avery Bradley and George Hill on defense, with Hibbert and Garnett back there to help out if he penetrates. He did a REALLY good job all things considered.

Felton wasn't as effective against indy because of their bigs and interior defense every time he drove to the paint, he still had a hell of a series against boston and still shot 41% against indy, better than I can say about other players who shoot 35s n 38% and at a higher volume of shots. Or Tyson Chandler averaging a whopping 5pts n 7 boards in the playoffs for a max cat. I could be wrong but I remember him stinking up last year's playoffs too. If you can't pencil in your big man for 10/10 a game with the money he's making I dont know what to say, and this is the 2nd time in the playoffs in a row. 5 n 7, big whoop. Craptastic. Shaq...err...Roy Hibbert dominated him and the whole entire paint for that matter, and nothing special in the Boston series.

BTW, Felton practically outplayed melo in the 1st round, as we looked like at one point we were going to make history by losing to the celtics by game 6 the way we were playing and melo/jr were shooting; it was felton and shump that bailed us out, not any of our max cats.

My one response to that is that Chalmers isn't a typical PG since the ball is in LBJ's and Wade's hands most of the time.

Felton did a good job the entire year,he has a very good contract for what he can do on the field.
I don't really see how we can improve the PG position without a decent cap space or a lucky pick in the draft this year.

Can't argue with what the Knicks got out of Felton for the dollar value. Are there better PGs out there? Yes. Are any of them available to the Knicks? Not unless huge assets are given up.

The offense didn't work, especially when things mattered most.

That has more to do with the coach than Ray. We were iso heavy on offense, thus limiting Ray's effectiveness. What would a better PG do in NY? Feed Melo and get out of the way?

Ray is a 2 guard in the NBA, they need a point guard....The offense looked much smoother when either J Kidd (reg season) or Pablo were on the court with Ray.....Knicks need a starting PG and should slide Ray over to the starting 2 guard spot if they intend on keeping him around
