I think that all seems pretty reasonable. I would think Bogut actually staying on the floor for 65 games pushes him close to most of those categories.

We used to say that about Michael Redd also.....

Really Press? Baiting quite hard in this thread, and probably specifically Paul.

Terry Stotts confirmed on Thursday that Joel Freeland has gained the Portland Trail Blazers' backup center position, supplanting Meyers Leonard.

That Leonard pick is looking more and more atrocious as time goes on. Wasn't an abundance of talent in that draft, but Joel freakin Freeland? Seriously Meyers Leonard? Did you just give up?

In a rebuild world of some of our imaginings, we'd have space on our roster for the Kendall Marshall's of this world. I like what Philly is doing right now. I like what Phoenix is up to. I like what Orlando has been up to (though this talk of Harkless and/or Nicholson starting over Tobias is catching me off guard). And, I'm starting to get interested in what may go down in Denver.

Regardless, we're stuck offering 2 yr guaranteed contracts to giant European lumberjacks.

It's pretty perplexing. That being said, I still scratch my head at Drummond going at 9. I mean, really? He is a complete beast out there. 9? Really? And wasn't there speculation we could have gotten to 7 w/ Golden State? Or am I mistaken?

Did you ever see him play at Illinois? The guy gave up every time he stepped on the court. He had the size and skill to be a 20/10 guy, but just didn't care enough to try to do anything.

He can't defend or shoot. Not a good combo. He got beat out by ish smith and Christmas this preseason and was gonna get cut. The best thing he did for the phx franchise is help get their incompetent gm fired.

I hope he stays healthy to be honest, I always really liked the guy. But I am glad we aren't the ones who gave him that contract.

That pretty much sums up how i feel

I think they'll be quite good if Curry can avoid another serious ankle sprain and Bogut can play at least 65 games or so, along with being healthy once the playoffs starts. Two fairly big questions though.

This strikes me as pretty funny. All NBA! DPOY! Or, you know, just stay on the court for 65 games.

I'll just say this, I don't think there's any way Bogut plays 65 games in all three of those seasons.

I like the trade. Gortat helps the Wiz, Shannon Brown can probably provide some offense off the bench... Kendall Marshall is downright terrible but they can cut him, and the Suns get an expiring and 1st rounder. Like it for both sides.

ETA - I see they will waive Brown too, probably for the best

Bogut extension, there's no question he's worth the money if he can stay healthy, story of his career.

This. Was not/am not a Marshall fan. I thought he'd stick around four at least four years, though.

So for Bogut they effectively have a 12-14M per year contract depending on incentives.

That's a big yearly number. A 12M dollar risk. Not sure if I am the Bucks if I do that deal.

Obviously he is probably worth the 14M if fully healthy, but I am not sure he can be fully healthy for one, his elbow for example...well and he's made of glass.

From what I read last night, it sounds like his base the next four years will be:

$14, $14, $12, $10 (although I saw one guy say $13, $12, $11 for the ext)

But then he'd get that extra $2 million a year in any extension season where he hits one of those objectives, including any season where he plays the 65 games.

Since Golden State blew that money on Iggy, they are going for it now. All in. So if they felt to keep Bogut happy this year, they had to pay him, that was their decision. He was getting a bit emo a few weeks back about the Warriors trying to trade for Dwight over the summer.

I'm not really sure which direction would have been better. To keep the pressure on Bogut to perform this year to earn a big contract next summer or to make Bogut relaxed and happy with a contract now. GSW chose the latter. While I wouldn't have done it, I do wish the Bucks had a core of Curry, Klay, Iggy, Barnes so that we'd have the luxury of having to make such a decision on Andrew.
