His underperforming ass is just as culpable as the other players on this team. 2 rebounds in 25 minutes? Get the **** out of here, he's really embarrassing himself attempting by singling out other players on this team.
The Nene trade is just another in a series of shortsighted decisions by our GM in charge.
So if he's not playing well, his points are invalid?
In this case, yes. Dude needs to look himself in the mirror before poppin' off at the mouth. He has a reputation for coasting, so he's not above any of this. I'm tired of him and wish the contract was movable or shorter.

I would say - If he didn't pop off about a fundamental problem affecting the team, it should be harder for him to look at himself in the mirror.
...unless he's having a great hair day.
On a serious note - Who the hell cares if the locker room is harmonious when the play on the court sucks?

This might be the start of EG being fired though; "max" player not playing like a max player, lockerroom issues, horrible record, no depth, worst team in the league when playoffs was the goal...![]()
So Wizards...
And you find this funny because...
Because this has been going on since I became a Wizards fan in 2008, and absolutely nothing has changed;
Again a superstar player not playing up to his contract for whatever reason (Gil: injury, Wall: injury?/whatever other reason)
Again the disgrunteld vets (AJ/CB vs Nene)
Again the trading of picks for short-term fixes
Again playoffs as goal when team looks like a bottom feeder night in, night out
Again a horrible start of the season record wise
Again the injuries
Again no dependable depth
How can you *not* laugh at all of this..??![]()
Lighten up dude..
I'm laughing at the hot garbage. Our players have stopped passing the ball around like last year.
Several of the members have also pointed out this flaw. Witt had to get control of the team. Bench the players who don't play team first basketball.
Passing the ball once with lots of time on the shot clock is hot garbage.

but each successive pass has to continue to enhance the scoring
chances otherwise the great becomes the enemy of the good.
Good offenses press and improve their advantage which also
tires out the defense physically and messes with their psyches.

Not sure if this is a serious post or a WizD parody.
Even so, I don't think anybody is saying Wall should artificially work the shot clock and only take shots right before the clock expires. But IMO taking that 19 foot elbow jumper before all 4 of your teammates even get into the set isn't what you want from your starting PG.
And if defenses are sagging under the screen to deny the lane, then they need to anticipate that and account for it somehow in the offense. Either by teaching Wall the Rondo-like skills others have mentioned, or having some type of action that is secondary to the original screen/roll that will keep the ball moving.

Re: Is Nene the next trouble in the locker room?
just thinking about how good shots are generated, that is often by
gaining an advantage and then using that advantage to further
improve the shot available.
(no need to parody WIzD)
indeed, having some action that is secondary to the orig PnR
or whatever it was that generated the first reasonable option.
MIA does this beautifully. So does SAN thinking about 2 teams
we've already been beaten by. They continue to press their
advantage until they get high quality attempts, often with
each pass of the ball.
You don't have to milk the entire shot clock. And sometimes a
defense will recover and eliminate the initial advantage causing
the offense to start from scratch. But a 20 ft pull up J should
be available almost any time in the shot clock. No need to settle
for that early.

This dude really talking with 5 RPG on a team that's lost the majority of its games due to rebounds and interior defense?
get outta here
Look at my post history--I called this a month ago and people laughed at me. When I saw how Nene was overreacting due soft contact in preseason I knew he'd be trouble and I literally called into question if he'd be a different form of cancer for the locker room.

This was inevitable considering he's a vet near the end of the line who wants to at least be in the playoffs. The problem is while there's some truth to what he's saying, there also is some responsibility he bears in all this (ft shooting, rebounding, availability)

While Nene needs to own up to his own shortcomings that doesn't mean what he was saying about Wall/Beal is wrong. The contrast in ball movement between the two teams couldn't have been more obvious.

i disagree. Beal is better than Patty Mills:)
The Wizards are not more talented then SA.
Come on.
And SA runs a tight system.
I'm ok with Nene saying it because it balances to smack in the face he delivered. The message is. Look. You are killing yourselves. You can be better then they are but you have to play with a team goal.
I'm ok with that message.

He was spot on about the play and shot selection of the two; but you have to wonder what they think based on Nene's play and availability. Hopefully they show the necessary humility and take it in a constructive manner.

Wall is the bigger culprit though. I can't stand seeing him pullup for a long 2 in transition. I have no problem with him taking catch and shot 3s but all those long 2s, especially early in the clock, need to stop.
Specially when he dribbles inside the 3 line to shoot a long shot. Dribble inside and keep moving until they cover you, you go around them or pass it.
Or just pump fake and pass it.
I'm not going to overly beat up on Wall. I actually love that he showed he can do a pick n roll now.
Its going to get better. Good for Nene for saying something. But they have only played 2 home games and a really tough road schedule.
Lets talk after these two home games against CLE and MN. I hope things are back on track after that.
4-6

Beal and Wall are definitely both taking too many long J's. I don't mind a 15 footer, but it should be that or a 3. No 18-20 ft contested jumpers allowed, or uncontested for the matter....

Near the end of the shot clock an 18-20 footer might be the best available option. But early in the clock (which many of their shots are) it is just bad basketball.

Actually, the easier argument is they lost what they lost in large part due to their incredibly sucky schedule.
Forest or tree. You decide.
2 home games vs 6 road game. Fewest home games so far and worst schedule in the league.
And they have had the worst road schedule possible.
Only thing worse would be Indy and Portland instead of DET and Philly for road games.
Then their road schedule would have been. MIA, OKC, SA, DAL, INY and PORT

Minnesota is going to kick the Wizards' asses, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs beat them as well.

Sounds like this team might miss Okafor in the locker room as much as it misses him on defense
