Okafor has a lot of Pau Gasol and Duncan in his game. Sign me up for the tank!

Muday or bust. Okafor is basically Monroe. Just that he has the new car smell and that no one has realized sucks on defense.

Oubre intrigues me also.

I like Mudiay a lot, but Okafor is 100% not Monroe.

But doesn't Okafor struggle on the defensive end?

That doesn't mean he's Monroe, though. Monroe doesn't have an off hand (refuses to do basically anything with his right hand) and his best skill is his passing. Okafor is a throw it in the paint and watch him go to work scorer. He may not be that athletic, but he's good in the post. He's more Al Jefferson than Monroe, but even that isn't a great comparison.

It will depend on who will be interested to sign for us next summer... Okafor would be better pair with LMA while Towns with Okafor. Or if we play Melo at 4, then we can take either Johnson or Oubre!

While Mudiay would be great if we can somehow land Matthews or Draymond Green by trading away Jose and THJ to clear cap space and put Melo at 4 in that case, too!! Let's see...

What's the read on him coming out after this year?

freak athlete put in the mold of a Tristan Thompson/Thomas Robinson.

Will be a good rebounder (both offensively and defensively). But really doesn't have much of a game outside of inside the paint (dunks/put backs).

The reason the two above are nothing more than role players is both haven't developed a consistant jump shot. If Alexander doesn't develop some kind of back to the basket/perimeter game he will be in the same mold as those guys. 20 minute a night energy guys off the bench.

Nothing wrong with that, just doesn't seem like a game changer.

Tristan Thompson actually is an excellent comparison IMO. Very nice role player that can probably average 12/8 or so for his career but not a feature player. Thomas Robinson has no skills and just doesn't seem to have a great feel for the game. Alexander has a solid feel for the game.

Right now (early) the top 3 probably is (in no particular order) Mudiay, Okafor and Towns. Then I think you got Oubre in the Dante Exum "extremely intriguing super upside with a hint of unknown wing" role at 4 (he should have gone 4 IMO). Then you have the next group of about 5 or 6 guys who I think can go in any number of order. Very similar to last years draft.

I've watched some highlights of Mudiay in his first couple of CBA games. He's already 10x better than any guard we have.

Mudiay/Shump/Melo/Amir/Gasol would be nice

Mudiay, plug n play guard, depends where he falls in the draft,if,to the Knicks would be good.

The 2 bigs O & T are intreging, we'll see how they track this year, but Mu looks BPA right now.

I'm saying though.. he's got a great pair of hands and his back to the basket game would be a top 5 back to the basket game in the NBA for a big man right from the jump.

He's a hybrid of a few different players.. and I don't see any comparison to Monroe other than the fact that they both have good hands.

Don't you guys know how it works? The Knicks will win enough games/get screwed by the lottery gods so that their pick falls exactly one player outside the real difference makers (could be any number, in this draft it seems like that number starts at 6) and then they will draft a player at # 6 (or whatever) who is really not much better than a guy taken at, say, 17.

Immediately after that, the board will divide itself into two camps, one who see no flaws in this player, who is the 2nd coming of (name All-Star/HOF at relevant position) while the other group will hate every single aspect of his game so much, you'd think if they had a time machine they use it to abort his fetus so there is no chance of his ever being drafted in the future.

Though the reality of the player will fall somewhere in between, each group will only see a handful of posters in either group modify their original opinion.

Unless you got luck I dont see any chance the Knicks are bad enough to get a top3 pick, so talking about guys, in the logical range, from 8th to 16, I would love to add Justise Winslow to this team, smart team player, NBA ready, can defend 4 positions, good midrange game, Kawhi Leonardesque approach to the game, he will be the best option if available, let Shumpert go and put Winslow as the starting SG.

Well, not immediately after that. There's a year where he does well off the bench and becomes our next Scottie Pippen or Hakeem Olajuwon. After that, the board starts dividing.
