Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
OK, it seems like someone claiming to be an insider would tweet out actual information, not their opinions on what we should do. And when I saw "sweepstakes" I went to Hoopshype to find the article about how Gallinari is on the table. I didn't see anything there but read elsewhere that Boston and Denver discussed a deal.
But then there is this.

Whoever this Suns "insider" is though...probably shouldn't have used the word sweepstakes.

Suns trade Kieff plus pick for Gallo.
PG: Bledsoe, Knight, Price
SG: Knight, Weems, Tucker, Archie
SF: Tucker, Warren, Weems
PF: Gallo, Teletovic, Len, Leuer
C: Chandler, Len,
This is a modern NBA team. If you like old school NBA, you would hate this team.

Why not simply wait for his contract to expire and sign him next summer? Why risk losing assets for nothing, if he doesn't push you to a contender status anyway? Seems like a rushed move, that would likely backfire next summer.

My understanding is because the Suns were going have to dump PJ to clear space for LMA to sign. That being said, I would not be surprised if the Suns moved him this season.

Danilo is perfect for this team, and can play the 3 and 4. LIke the versatility. Like the skill set. Just hate that he's an FA next year and teams like the Kings are always out there to max out anyone willing to play for them.

Yup, and our spacing reaches a different dimension than it's been at. You can play Gallo at the 3 and Teletovic at the 4 with Knight at the 2 and Len at the 5. Shooters everywhere. Lots of versatility too. Can mix and match lineups as needed.

If they are desperate to trade Markieff I guess it would be ok to take back Gallinari, but he could leave...but I guess we'd pay him if we thought he was worth it. I certainly don't think trading a pick on top of Markieff is worth it though. Markieff is a very good player on a very solid contract. That has value.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
Any Gallinari trade would depend on what we're doing.
If we're in win now mode (with Chandler) it may be risky to trade away a starter or two for another guy with recent injuries like our 3 best players.
If we're building for the future, and want an All-Star in 2-3 years similar to Bledsoe or Knight, then that'd make sense, as a low risk high reward trade similar to those 2.

If Hornacek was willing to do something similar with his fine ass daughter, you have to imagine that we'd have gotten LMA. But no, I'm not saying he should have.

I've got goose bumps just thinking about it! If Bledsoe could improve just a bit from 32% to 35% your entire line up would be tremendous.

Let's trade our most reliable guy for a guy who basically misses half of the year from injury. Make sense. /green

One was a joke video...the other one was "Hearing varying reports about Gallinari's availability. Some connected say DEN not looking to move him; others say it's open to discussion."

Yes, he stoops low....watch this video, especially around 2:20.... I like what KJ did at the 3:55 mark.
His daughter is hot though... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2521963-doc-rivers-daughter-callie-reportedly-convinced-deandre-jordan-to-stay

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
I think the Suns should trade Morris for Danilo Gallinari. Here's why.
2016-17 Cap Space
First thing's first, there's no need to include a pick in the deal. Gallinari for Morris straight up should get it done. Once the cap increases next year, Morris's deal is only going to look better and better. Gallinari's trade value is not high right now, mainly due to the injury concerns. But the Suns medical staff is the best of the best. If any team can keep him on the court, it is us. If he stays healthy and plays well this season, Gallo is going to get paid. So we only make this trade if we believe we can retain Gallinari--i.e., back channel through his agent and see if he'd at least be open to an extension next summer. You'd think he would be open to the idea, if only to escape the dysfunction in Denver. But assuming no other major injury, Gallinari, unfortunately, is probably going to demand close to a max contract next summer--think Enes Kanter or Wes Matthews money. Almost every team is going to have cap space to throw around, and there is only one Kevin Durant. And the teams that miss out on the Durant sweepstakes will have cap space--a lot of cap space:

If the Suns trade for Gallinari, we must be ready to pay the money to lock him up to an extension.
Gallinari at Power Forward
Last season according to 82games.com, Gallinari actually spent more time at power forward than small forward: he spent 15% of his minutes at the three, versus 19% at the four. At the 3, Gallo had an O-Rating of 94.6, and a D-Rating of 102.3. Over the course of 48 minutes, this nets out to -7.6 points. Compare that with Gallo the modern power forward. At the 4, Gallinari had an O-Rating of 109.1, and a D-Rating of 102.5. Over the course of 48 minutes, this nets out to +6.7. In 2012-13 (remember he sat out all of 2013-14), Gallinari had a positive impact per-48 as a small forward (+4.7), but an even better impact as a power forward (+9.1). Gallinari's most important skill is his shooting. Gallinari has a career true shooting percentage of .578. For reference, Klay Thompson has a career true shooting percentage of .558, Steph Curry has a career true shooting percentage of .602, and Kyle Korver has a career true shooting percentage of .599. Oh, and did I mention that his nickname is the Rooster? What else do you need to know? Let's get this guy!
Post-Trade Team
PG: Bledsoe, Goodwin, Price
SG: Knight, Weems, Booker
SF: Tucker, Warren
PF: Gallinari, Teletovic, Leuer
C: Chandler, Len
Three things I love about this team. First, the locker is cleared of Morris's bad attitude. Second, four starters are legitimate three point threats, which would translate to excellent spacing and open lanes. Third, the players would be able to switch on defense. This was one of the keys to Golden State's success this summer.

But how many guys turned down Sacramento's max money in favor of a better (less dysfunctional) team?

I think Kieff is much better overall than Faried. Rebounding and attitude wise are the only two categories in which he has Kieff beat but everything else, Kieff and him are the same or Kieff has a huge advantage.
