Thats rough.

Guys lets try to do our best to keep Joe in,does anyone object postponing the start date to 10th?

On a side note Joe, if we start on 7th (Monday), could you make it work?

I don't remember our average time for drafting, but that could cut it close. I do remember that it takes almost a week to finish round 1. If we start sep 10, I think we'd have to cut the draft time down to 4-6 hours, which would mean we'd often be drafting in the midnight-4am time period, or have to send a list

I still say we could start Sep 1 and Joe can send a list for his 1st pick. There's a good chance we wouldn't hit his 2nd pick until sep 10 anyway. And if we do, we can just pause the draft until Sep 10 when Joe can draft again.

Usually it takes about a month from the official draft start date to complete the draft so we should be fine in that regard.

The 1st 2 rounds are easy to pick
The question is where he going to draft
If he draws top5 ou last 5 picks we are talking
1 39 40
2 38 41
3 37 42
4 36 43
5 35 44
20 21
19 22
18 23
17 24
16 25
if he draw that we can start on the 1st if he draws 6 -14 its close due to his work issue

This is a good point. Maybe we run the lottery, see where he ends up, then decide how early we can start.

I think we've really got to decide before the lottery.

I just saw this...if it's only a month to draft then that's fine with me if we start sep 10. I'd rather see Joe stay in the league too.

By that point though, I'm in full teaching mode...can we do the lottery as already planned so I can put my draft list together before the semester starts in a week?

it takes us 30 to 40 days. I hope we finish before pre-season games start but it's fine by me if we start at september 10, regardless

I haven't heard if when we are doing the draft. That decides whether I should stay or bow out this year. Either is fine.

Floppy-at this point, even if we started tomorrow, you'd probably only pick 2 (maybe 3x) before Sep 10. With Gokce's Sep 1 date, you probably won't pick more than once. Why not just pick a lotto number and make a list so we can get lottery going? Last year I had at least 3-4 of my picks drafted by list because I had very limited access to Wifi. I really don't think it's that big of a deal...especially for the 1st 2 rounds, as is the case for you.

I just don't want to do it if I can't be fully participating. Trades in the opening days of the draft have been important to more than one of my past squads, and I won't be able to do that. It's not about how long it takes to make a 1st round pick. It's about having to time to do things right.

But at this point, you're holding things up because you want things just right. And the ironic thing is if we start on the 10th, we'll be cutting it so close that there will be little to no time for trades, so not only will you not get the trade opportunities you're referencing here, but neither will the rest of us. What's even more irony is if you had chosen a number we would've had the lottery by now and you would've had more than ample time for trades.

I've said it before...last year I needed the draft changed because of my hectic travel but I didn't get it, and it worked out fine. I just don't see why we all have to wait for one person
