Somebody save this topic and we'll look at it again after the playoffs. Can the Spurs beat the Warriors four times? I say no, no, no, and no.

Duncan's averaging 3.5 points more than Bogut on 5 more minutes per game. I don't think we need to worry too much about him destroying us in the post. He's not that player anymore.

Small ball death squad. I am not sure even the Spurs have an answer for that, but they may not care to expose that line-up to the Spurs too much before the play-offs.

Offense doesn't go thru him that much anymore, but when he feels like he has to score he makes it look easy at times

You don't think spurs have been getting team's best games? Kristaps just had possibly his best game so far and they damn near beat the spurs in San Antonio with Calderón who had a good look at a 3 at the buzzer but just missed it long...

Not as much as the Warriors. Not only are the Warriors the defending Champs, but during that 24-0 run EVERYONE wanted to be the team to knock them off. Players played through their injuries just so they could take on the Dubs.

Here's some interesting numbers:

Warrior Point differential before Barnes injury: 14.76
Warrior Point differential while Barnes is injured: 7.75
Warrior Point differential since Barnes return (4 games so far) 13.25

Current Spurs Differential: 13.9

If Dunce is hitting outside shots, it doesn't bode well, but I'd prefer taking my chances with him shooting outside shots rather than dominating us inside. As far as Aldridge, I believe that this one actually could be another good one for us, as I think that Dray will be able handle him well. I say this based on a number of years ago when Nellie put Maggette on him, who not only shut him down defensively, but outscored him as well.

I Maggete could do it, I'm pretty confident that Draymond can do it as well unless Aldridge has learned something since then. I think that having Barnes could help as well, keeping the Spurs from getting too many offensive rebounds. The guy I'm most concerned with is Kawhi. Will Barnes/Rush/Iggy be able to somehow neutralize him? I think we have a decided edge in the backcourts.

Did you watch last year vs Portland? Aldridge just did turn around jump shots on dray all day. There was not a damn thing dray could do about it cos he's 4 inches shorter.

Dray will figure it out. He just hadn't played him before. In their prior matchups, Green has held him to just 38% from the field and Green has only averaged 23 minutes against him in those games, In their last meeting Aldridge outscored him, but Green outre-bounded him 14-6. And this is before Draymond had become proficient at 3 point shooting as we see in today's game and throughout this season.

Aldridge prefers to shoot from outside (instead of playing inside where he would definitely have the advantage over Draymond). I'm confident that Draymond will make whatever adjustments he needs when we play them. Here's where BBIQ makes a big difference. Bogut vs Duncan concerns me more and if Draymond has to go small against Duncan then you have IQ+6 inches against IQ.

Bogut concerns you vs Duncan because of bbiq? Bogut mainly gets by these days solely for his bbiq, what are you talking about?

Bogut commits a ton of dumb fouls. I've seen him grabbing guys at half court to stop a break when he already had 2 early fouls. Can't be doing that type of stuff.

We're the better team so I'm not worried about how we match up. They should be worried about how they match up with us.

I was being tongue-in-cheek. It just bothers me how (when it comes to the Spurs) some of our fans are saying "I'm worried about this, I'm worried about that..." when we're the reigning champs and 35-2. They're takes that are more apropos to a time when we were the scrub-ass Cohan era Warriors.

Statistically speaking they're playing better than us despite our record. I'm not worried but there are things worth discussing as the match ups are intriguing.

Ok I think I get you. Granted green's iq is a bit higher than Aldridge but it isn't as though Aldridge is dumb in anyway...

And regardless of how smart green is he can't make up for a lack of height. That turnaround fade away jump shot that Aldridge has down pat since the beginning of time... There's not a damn thing green can do to stop that.

Of course green can give him troubles on the other end with quickness and shooting but that's why I think it's the most interesting and probably most important match up in the game and could go a long way in to who will win in the end.

Their bench definitely is playing better than ours. Our bench has turned numerous 25+ games into 10 pt wins by Speights-ing it away. So if the statistic you are talking about is margin of victory, then i agree. But there is no better statistical indicator of play than Wins and Losses.

Well I mentioned it before on another thread that the difference really is defence more than anything. Putting all the blame on speights is a bit unfair. The whole team has to play better defence in the 4th.
It's all good and well to say let's just flip the switch on when it's the spurs but if the defensive effort in the 4th hasn't been there consistently up to that point it'll make it that much harder to just turn it on when it suits us. Good habits are practised and right now we aren't practising good 4th quarter defence enough in my opinion.
This along with turnovers are my only 2 concerns.

Spurs in the mean time statistically have one of the best defences in history full stop.

Its not all Speights' fault, but he has been crappy. And the 4th quarter defense has been predominately, the deep bench who "hopefully" will not be playing much in the playoffs. If they're playing 4th quarters in the playoffs, we are in trouble.

If he's capable of defending guys like Mozgov, Gasol and even AD at times, I'm pretty sure he can come up with something for LMA.

And how does he do it? Same way smaller guys are able to do it with bigger ones? They get upon them and try and hit (or swipe) the ball on the way up. At the least it may very well disrupt their rhythm. because Green's quicker than he is, Aldrdridge (who's handle isn't that good) will have trouble trying to dribble around him and becomes susceptible to turnovers if he tries.

What about the last few games where the starters have damn near let teams shoot there way back into a game? I've noticed it more than just a few times this season.

I think everyone needs to tighten their defence
