RPM darling (top 5 PG by many APM metrics), great defender (I think he's the best current PG defender actually), great passer and showed signs of a jumpshot at only 7.7 FGAs.

2010-2011

Image

- 6th man of the year

- Can play any position in basketball

- Can defend any position in basketball

- Versitilty is key here, giving me 5 guys that can play more than one position, and most can play 3 or more (PG, Lebron, Odom).

- 10.9 FGA on 53% shooting

Love this pick!

Going with 2013-2014 Kyle Lowry with this pick. 13.7 FGA is a little higher than I would ideally like to go, but I think the value he provides outweighs it. I've got a very athletic team and now a PG who knows how to feed great dunkers, while being a potent offensive threat himself

Pismo Beach Panthers select Danny Granger. Year TBA for once.

Versatile player who does a little bit of everything. Another good shooter. A guy who can play multiple positions. Tough-nosed defender. Can be a primary scoring option. Delighted he is still available to me here.

2012-13 Mike Conley Jr.

One of the most underrated point guard's in the NBA, especially in the 2012-13 season. 11.8 FGA, solid shooter, good passer, great defender. Defensive Rating per 100 was just 100 (+11 overall). He tallied 9.9 win shares (4.7 defensive), and was a second team All Defense selection.

My starting lineup is complete and the defense is great across the board. Conley, Kobe, and Battier will suffocate the perimeter; Bosh can guard opposing PFs either straight up or in the post; and Marc Gasol is a DPOY who provides excellent post defense and wonderful rim protection in the middle.

So im still salty about getting scooped on Rose but i think i found another point guard who can score and be a really good 1-2 punch with AD. Let's go with "Video Game" Dame.

Image

2015-16

PPG = 25.1 (6th in the league, 2nd among point guards)
APG = 6.8 (8th in the league)
3P% = .375
3P Makes = 229 (4th in the league)
FT% = .892
Offensive Win Shares = 7.7 (9th in the league)
PER = 22.2
TS% = .560

This guy is essentially a poor man's Curry. I needed a high volume scorer to relieve some of the offensive load from AD. Super clutch and can have his extremely hot moments from 3 a la Steph Curry.

I can take a coach, right?

If so, I'll go Greg Popovich. I have 2 of his former stars on my team, and the other two guys fit great as well. From what I've heard him say, he loves Durant. Durant's game would go to a new level playing for Pop. Brand is a monster who was a positive on defense, versatile offensively, and a fine passer as well (3 APG in RS, 4 APG in PS).

Because other posters picked higher, we are going to be at a small disadvantage talent wise versus some teams. Our best bet is to gel as a team and have a better coach. Furthermore, I get a huge upgrade without using FGA.

If I can't draft a coach, just let me know

This selection was tough. I was thinking about two guys. Going back and forth multiple times. And although I never trust people with two first names.

We have decided to select..

Image

Karl-Anthony Towns. Rookie of The Year. 2016 Skills Challenge Winner.

PPG- 18.3
RPG- 10.4
BLK- 1.7
PER- 22.5
WS- 8.3
FGA- 14.0

He can do it all. Make shots( With 3pt range), block shots, finish at the rim, etc. This guy is the total package.

Year- 2016, obviously.
Handsome.

To welcome our next pick ...

The Greystone Bay Community Players select SG Nicolas Batum (year TBD).

This completes my starting lineup with by putting four outside shooting threats around Dwight while also having four stellar defenders surrounding Love (especially Batum & Crash at the wings).

P.S. — Anyone who's never seen Casablanca should be penalized a draft pick.

Timmay sent me his picks. With pick 1 he takes Blake Griffin. With pick 2 he takes Tristan Thompson. And he's bitter he got sniped on Batum btw.

More song lyrics! "All in all it's just another brick in ..."

Image

The Greystone Bay Community Players select PG John Wall (year TBD).

A little explanation on this one — by my rough count I had between 21 and 25 FGAs left to spend on my three bench slots depending on what years I choose for the guys I've already selected. So I could've either divided them up evenly on three guys who averaged 7-8 FGAs per game ... or given half of them (another starter's share) to a super 6th man and split the remainder on two 6-FGA role players. Seeing how I'd built my roster and the potential difference in impact of adding another superstar, I took door #2.

Beyond that, I always loved the PHX teams that played Jason Kidd and Steve Nash together; Kidd's such a great defender that he can guard SGs, and I think I've got enough shooting to offset early-career-Wall's lack of an outside shot (especially if I go super-small-ball and shift Love down to C for a few minutes a game).

Time will tell if this was the right strategy or not, but I will say this about my team — I think they'd be damn fun to watch!
