How on earth could the Cavaliers sign Wade anyhow? Aren't we a bajillion dollars over the cap? I assume it would have to be a massive paycut correct? Assuming this even is a "done deal like AC's son said I guess lol.

Real Madrid/Cleveland - LeBron/Ronaldo - Kryie/Bale - Benzema/Love (footy fans will get the reference)
Barcelona/Golden State - Curry/Messi - Neymar/Thompson - Durant/Suarez
Atletico Madrid/San Antonio - Pop/Simeone
Rest of La Liga - Rest of NBA

Sounds about right.

Only problem for me is Curry is nowhere near as talented in bball as Messi is in football :D

 beautiful

I'd agree with Lebron being Ronaldo and Kyrie being Bale

I'd say Durant is more Messi (Durant is probs more talented individually than Curry), Klay would be Neymar and Green is Suarez (cause Grub gonna grub) with Curry being Iniesta (i'd say Iniesta is still the 2nd most important player to Barca)

Atleti are probably San Antonio though they could be OKC, the other is probably Valencia if they got it together

lakers are rayo vallecano (just without the relegation)

The only way this happens is if we trade Shump and both LBJ and Wade take significantly less than they can currently get. I would call that possibility remote at best.

I enjoy trolling Heat fans as much as the next guy (I do feel badly for some dude named Iggy who the rest of their board is convinced jinxed them) but this is really unlikely to happen.

Seriously...don't.

obviously it would be a paycut haha. Dont you think Lebron would have resigned by now..unless if he knew something was up and thats why he waited this long? Watch Dan gilbert be paying them under the table lol!

no. la liga has 3 contenders. nba will have 2 real contenders. in other words, worse than la liga.

Everyone above you got the Spurs = Atletico.

They're not too far from Barca and Real.

Yeah Gilbert's tax bill for last year was $54 million and we've still got to re-sign JR. So you find a taker for Shump (or Love and I'm not sure I'd be interested anymore if it were the later) and then both LBJ and Wade leave money on the table. They'd both have to be pretty hot about what just happened in GS for them to do that.

But - there is this:

But surely he or Carr wouldn't know more than actual insiders? Could be wrong here

I figured as much, but dear lord seems the salary cap is so complex and has all these dang loopholes and exceptions and crap who knows lol. It does seem a little weird LeBron hasn't agreed to terms yet seeing as he is definitely coming back, I actually never thought about that. Although honestly it's LeBron, he probably just wants eventual attention after the KD thing settles a bit lol.

In related news, Wade shockingly accepts a 4 year 20 million dollar deal today to join LeBron in CLE. In other news, Wade has somehow cashed out 100 million of Quicken Loans stock nobody knew he owned today.... Wonder what the penalty would be if you got caught paying a player off the books like that?

Meh, doubt anyone will find out if he pays them under the table. but even so, like I said, Lebron and Wade have more than enough money, and will continue to get money of their endorsements, etc. I really doubt they care about the money at this point. But I really thought that the reason Lebron waited this long and has yet to sign a deal is because hes waiting for something to happen with their team to allow others to join, and then figure out his deal. I still feel like the Cavs would be better starting JR smith instead of Wade though.

they can't. They didn't have bird rights to Whiteside, so to sign Whiteside to a max deal, they have to fit it under the cap, which means all of their other free agents have to either be renounced or sign enough under the cap to allow Whiteside to sign his deal. They could potentially move a player to free up more room, but they only have 4 players under contract right now (Bosh, Dragic, McRobers, Winsow)

Signing wade would be a decent counter move

Taxpayer MLE is one way. Anything else gets pretty complicated.

Here I thought 2014 was the last time I'd give a flying F about a flight that certain NBA players took lol.

Although honestly, I would hate to lose JR Smith.

i doubt it really, especially if that means losing JR smith. With Wade there wouuld be no spacing lol, unless if he magically comes in with a 40% 3pt shooting year lol. JR smith defense also has improved a lot playing under the Cavs. Just cant see how anyone can outscore the Warriors anymore. ITs not fair haha, they can all have an off night and still score over 100 points lol. It will be exciting to see how their chemistry is though!

Man, RealGM has been nuts the past few days. Usually I'm wasting my brain cells on shoe forums, but this place has been a madhouse. I can barely keep up.

I just don't see Wade making much of a difference. He's going to be 35 years old next year. I'd rather have JR Smith. Wade would certainly be better than Shumpert off the bench, but he's not worth losing JR or Love.

Reminds me a tiny bit of 2014 with the LeBron news... not quite at that level but closer than I expected that's for sure. Nobody can say the NBA hasn't been entertaining the past 3-4 weeks that's for sure.
