Never said you said he wouldn't, I was just saying, well assuming, you said he would have a D-League stint because of his Olympic play.

Here's what was said

Yeah he seems destined for a D League stint then a call up in the 2nd half, at worst.

I'm in agreement on the kid is good, is on a great deal and will make the team. If anything, I'm defending him despite some poor performances in the Olympics.

agreed.

I didn't want to respond, Hey Relax Man, because the response to that is usually don't tell me to relax! But it seemed a little much

I was responding to this:

"Yeah he seems destined for a D League stint then a call up in the 2nd half, at worst."

Maybe you had a whole other bunch of contextual thoughts to garnish that with, but I think my response to that was pretty straight and non-confrontational. In other words, I was responding by saying in effect that one can hardly extrapolate that turn of events based on the Olympics, i.e. wait and see.

not meant to be abrasive so apologies if that's how it's coming off.

I was agreeing with KT on why he'll make the team because someone implied that he possibly could not make the team because of his Olympic play.

No problem. He'll be on the team. KP wanted him here and that alone is enough for him to stick around all season. He'd have to be a bust and not even worthy of being the 15th man to be off the team next season considering he is under a sweet contract.

Phil told Willy when he met him recently "I like your game". That means he's got a lot of talent and will help the team sooner rather than later. And he has synergy with KP too. Don't count him out because he's a live, active, strong young man with post skills.

Step 1: "I like your game"

Step 2: Drop by Phil's house in Montana

Step 3: "Have you ever smoked Peyote?"

Well, with the 4 year deal I guess they really want to give him a look this year. His play in the Olympics seems subpar and is cause for concern, is it not?

I worry if Noah is hurting that I don't want Willy getting minutes behind Oquinn.

Completely disagree with the first two sentences. The four year deal is insurance in case he is not good this year and he needs time to develop, not because they want to give him a look t his year. It makes no sense whatsoever to cut a young big making 1 million a year. I also don't think his play in the olympics is cause for concern. He had one really poor game, but had two good games. The inconsistency isn't an issue either because, again, he's 22 years old going up against grown men in arguably the most pressure filled games of his career. He played really well. You're willing to throw everything away that he's done the last two years because of what he's done in the Olympics? Really? :-?

I think Willy will be fine if (when?) Noah gets hurt. With KOQ and G, we can get ~35 minutes at center (at minimum) and then just play KP the final 13 at C to fulfill the 48 at the 5. Not that difficult to manage minutes if Noah gets hurt. However, losing what Noah brings will be an issue.

Young and big making a million is still a waste of a roster spot if he is a terrible basketball player. You are confident he will be good, I think he will not. I hope I am wrong, but here is to hoping he shows some potential for us this year.

I think he will be solid based on what he's done in 2 of the 3 games he's played in during the Olympics, his skill set, has age (potential), and because he played well the last two years in Spain. A 6'11 big who can score in the post and rebound is worth more than 1 million even if he doesn't improve.

Developmental players with as much potential as Willy are worth a roster spot even if they won't have an immediate impact. This guy is good enough to be on a very good Spanish national team and he's learning from/practicing against the Gasol brothers every day. He's only 22 and already has some pretty good work done in the second best league in the world. This isn't the roster spot you should be sweating imo...not with the T-Rex armed worst Plumlee brother attached to a guaranteed contract; we got bigger problems
C- Turner | Wiseman
PF- Hunter |Clowney | Fleming
SF- Strus | George

Good call, I actually forgot Plumlee was on the team. I see no hope for Plumlee, Willy has at least some skills. Damn, the thought of Plumlee literally angers me.

I'm angry, embarrassed, ashamed. Not only the final score of 109-59, but the non-effort shown in losing the battle of the boards 41-25 while losing this battle at Lithuania's own end 15-14 is just inexcusable. The one thing I've always been able to count on against anybody with the possible exception of the U.S. is that Lithuania would pull down at least as many rebounds as the opposition. But not on Saturday against Spain.

I don't know what to think. I don't know if even a medal will dispel the hollow feeling in my stomach now.

Radically Canadian! Real men only need three downs.

Dont be ashamed, you can consider that they threw the match so that they wouldn't meet USA until finals..

makes sense huh?
