Jackson would still be here if Doc wasn't holding on to his son. Now we will sign Teague. **** you, Doc

FemaleDogPlease wrote:Carmelo isn't going anywhere. Carmelo is probably still on the trade block but I doubt the Knicks are actively trying to trade him. If a team makes a good idea he will be gone. Otherwise he will be here when the season starts.

He is still the best SF they have

Other than there isn't a SF in the league he can defend anymore.

But since the Knick SF depth sucks, yes, Melo is the man

We better not buy him out unless Melo agrees to forgo a ton of his salary and it's really favorable for us. If not, hang on to him to the trade deadline and wait for one of the desperate non-GSW contenders to come calling.

Melo has all the leverage on a trade, we obviously have all of it on a buy out. With Phil gone, I have no qualms with letting Melo play the first few months of next season here. I still prefer a trade this summer but if not just hang on to the guy.

I think it's best for Knicks to buyout melo and trade KP now Knicks don't need divas they need to rebuild through the draft with players who only care about basketball.

Trade him if you receive a package thats beneficial to our future. I.E. young talent or picks.

No to everything else.

An ESPN reporter wrote following regarding the Chris Paul trade: https://www.facebook.com/MrMichaelEaves/posts/1239427866166362

Paul's relationship with Doc Rivers started to deteriorate rapidly after the Clippers acquired Austin Rivers. Several members of the team felt Austin acted entitled because his dad was both the coach and the President of Basketball Operations. In the view of the tenured players, Austin Rivers never tried to fit in, and when players tried to address the situation with him, he still did not respond the way the core of the team wanted him to. It led to resentment within the locker room, which often played out during games. One of Paul's biggest contentions with Doc was that Paul, and other players, felt Doc treated Austin more favorably than other players. He would yell at guys for certain things during games and practices, but not get on Austin in the same manner for similar transgressions.

But what really solidified Paul's dissatisfaction with Doc was a proposed trade involving Carmelo Anthony last season. New York offered Carmelo and Sasha Vujacic to the Clippers in exchange for Jamal Crawford, Paul Pierce and Austin Rivers, a deal to which Rivers ultimately said no. That event led Paul to feel that keeping his son on the roster was more important to Doc than improving the team. So, ultimately, Paul lost both trust and faith in Doc. As one league executive put it, "Chris despises Doc."

Holy crap if true. Can you IMAGINE if that actually took place??

Seems like we are getting Teague. Knicks are hurting and since they mentioned that FA is their goal CURRENTLY, they will get someone. Just praying that it will be less than 4 yrs 56 million contract or 2 yrs 38 million. Former seems to be the case.

If we get Teague, Melo is staying I think and play his contract out here in NY.

Teague is mediocre but does play defense. If Frank plays well, it will push Teague to the bench. Even though the bench player should not be making that much money but we should be lucky to have Frank develop into a starter. I will take Teague and hope knicks get him sooner to make a statement around the league.

Teague/Frank
Lee/Justin Holiday (signed) or Ron Baker
KP/KOQ
Melo/Simmons or Cunningham
Willy/Noah

If we don't get Teague, Knicks might pursue Jrue. I don't think we give him that max to an injury-prone PG.
In short, all I am saying is RJ-Brunson-Grimes-Quickley-Randle are the untouchables moving forward.

There had to be more than that, future picks at the least to us. Right? Right...?

By the way, I hate Austin Rivers, this changes nothing about how I feel about this ultimate outcome which is more optimism going forward.

Phil still needed to go.

Exactly. Both had to go, but Phil's way sucked. Melo should still get traded, and I like him

I think it's hard for some people to understand this dynamic. I love Melo, hated Phil yet I didn't thibk the premise of what Phil was saying was so wrong. Id love to see Melo go win while we rebuild, however I won't trash him for fulfilling his contract if thats what he wants to do.

y'all keep saying buy out. Why not waive him and let him play on a team that sucks where he doesnt want to go. I swear some of you really just don't think. You all want to bash me for some of my outlandish things I say but I look at this board and take it as a joke considering I sound rational with compared to most people on here. Please give me a good reason why we should buy him out compared to waiving him. The nets or kings would probably pick him up or maybe the 76ers

No major news here, I think it's clear we need to rebuild but maybe Carmelo has his value go up a bit with the Knicks holding onto him tighter, and teams looking to make trades in order to compete with the Warriors (HOU, CLE, BOS)

Is this another hit piece?

Must be. No Phil can only mean were building around Melo

I want the Rockets to push for a trade for Melo. Harden and CP3 aren't good enough to win a championship.

Everyone pray Celtics miss out on George and Hayward. That's our chance.

Last time I prayed for missing out on something was when Maureen went in for a kiss with her disgusting dead tooth.

I nearly barfed, you know? Sh*t smelled like garbage. Ugh.
