Re: Is Iggy a Hall of Famer
He’s a critical figure on one of the greatest teams of all time. He’s making it.
People talk about Dwight Howard being in the hall and then think Iggy doesn’t deserve it. It’s not an award for a box score.

However Dwight Howard's career ended, he was an 8 time all star, 3 time defensive player of the year, and a franchise player who was the leader of a team that went to the Finals. In his prime, he was the clear best center in the league. Igoudala's resume is not even close... further away even if he never joined the warriors.
Dwight is a clear first ballot. Igoudala shouldn't make it.

Would Howard at his peak be a more effective defensive player than Iguodala is on Golden State? For comparison even a peak Boogie Cousins without injury I don't think is close to Iguodala in effectiveness on Golden State.

The fact the vote is so close just shows how completely out of touch people are with the HOF standards.
The Answer is no, and it's not a close or gray area no.

Sure but that doesn't change the fact that Dwight Howard was a top player in the league at sometime in his career and is deserving of the hall of fame.

Hall of Fame automatic credentials to me (just going off pro career):
Best player on a team that made the Finals
At least 4 All NBA first team selections
At least 5 All-NBA selections(doesn't matter which one)
career leader or top 5 in significant stats(pts, 3pt, blks, stl, rebs)

Hands down Iggy will be in the HOF.
Take into account it’s the basketball HOF not the NBA HOF.
For his case, team USA, pre dubz, and finals mvp should give him the nod.

Lol. You caught me before my edit. I wouldn't put him in. I'm just saying that's his case. And the league is known to let undeserving guys in. Iggy was WAY better than Vlade for instance, who got in thanks to being an ambassador for Serbia, I guess....
Peak stats
BPM 5.3 >4.4
WS/48 .173>.167
PER 20.5>19.0
Want to guess is higher in all 3 cases?
We really doing the ‘cherry pick 3 stars that back up my argument’ thing? Feel free to put up a poll and people who was the better player. I think Iggy will win easily.
Those are the go to 3 stats we have for them. There's no prime RAPM for Vlade.
That said Vlade in our limited RAPM sampling.
02 - Ranked 6th
03 - Ranked 6th
04 - 37th
05 - 195th (last season)
Iguodala
09 25
11 53rd
12 (NPI) 44
13 26
14 we have to switch to far less useful RPM he does finish 3rd
You'll note skipped years were to avoid talking about rather far back impact stats.
XRAPM 91-2014
https://sites.google.com/site/rapmstats/xrapm-per-100-91-14
Vlade comes in 25th in that sample to Ig at 47th.
When the player comparison board did their top 100, Vlade came in at 97th. Ig was part of a group of players with 1 mention for honorable mentions.
I'm sure casual fans will see Iggy's high PPG and all defense selections and rank him ahead, but if you really setout, define criteria, look through their career impact, look at what skills they bring and how it fits into winning. I'm nearly positive most objective analysis would come to the conclusion Vlade was better.

Re: Is Iggy a Hall of Famer
You can’t tell the story of the Warriors Cavs 4 in a row Finals without Finals MVP Iggy. He’s in. Iggy is kind of like Tony Parker. Tony Parker won 4
and went to 5 Finals.
Iggy May get to 4 championships and 5Finals this month.

Is D Howard better than Bogut? Cause with Bogut the warriors had the best defense in the nba...

No, he is exceptional but if he makes it then where's the line? I would want to see James Jones in HOF as well then.

I still find this to be the most insane thinking. Clear first ballot for a team killer with no meaningful skills...compared to a FMVP and critical defensive wing on a team that re-defined basketball. Losing in the finals is not a hall of fame achievement.
I know there's no criteria for the hall so people go by box score and awards, but this is totally crazy.
