Waiters making $12M this year , and $12.5M in 20-21

What teams out there would be interested ? There are very few teams where Waiters would start.. Charlotte or Detroit come to mind .

Waiters would not start over Bacon or Rozier.

Bacon really shouldn't start either though.

Bacon did fairly well as a 3+D wing the 2nd half of last season replacing Batum, but I agree, which is why hopefully we get some lottery luck this time and get Edwards in the draft. Bacon is still more valuable than Waiters though who doesn't play defense. Also way cheaper.

Stop. If you want to try to develop a guy, just say so. But Waiters is better than both of those dudes.

Talented? Maybe. You seriously think Waiters would start over Rozier on most teams?

You're talking to the one poster who said Rozier's signing wasn't that bad before the preseason. You can make an argument for either of them starting depending on whether you want a more traditional PG or a shoot-first guy out of that position. The problem would be that neither of them will be happy going to the bench.

Just to be clear here too, my issue is not with Waiters's skills. I think he is a very good basketball player. I also believe he is putting himself ahead of the team. That's unacceptable for most teams, but in Miami, he knew what he was getting when he signed up. The Heat signed him with a bum ankle and were patient waiting for his return. This is not how to pay the Heat back for their patience.
