Have the Refs been really inconsistent this season or is it just me. See a lot of new faces too.

Refs are just gonna keep sucking. Some of it is excusable and all but how these guys paid to watch a game miss point blank **** points to either gross incompetence or leaves open the door to possibility of continued corruption of officials (wouldn’t be the first time)

I love Dame's tweet and I hope it makes them stop doing this dumb 2 minute report as if that is supposed to provide some solace.

Second of all, if goaltending were called, the game would have been tied, and the Jazz would have possession with an opportunity to win the game in regulation, and another opportunity to win the game in overtime. Blazers would have had a chance to win the game, but that call alone didn't singlehandedly cost them the game. That wasn't a game-winning shot attempt by Lillard. It would have sent the game into OT if the Jazz couldn't convert anything in their final possession.
To be fair, I though Lillard was clearly fouled on the final play as well. I also thought the refs missed a clear flagrant on O'Neal's undercutting of Simons.
I wouldn't say that the refs cost the Blazers the game. But they cost the Blazers a legitimate chance at winning the game. Which is plenty bad.
We can do this all night with this horribly officiated game.
How about the Blazers possession where the clock never ran and they got a basket? Completely missed. Or when Mitchell drove to the basket in third and got hacked?
It’s not Portland’s fault and it’s not Utah's fault.
The main play talked about was clearly a goaltend. But the league isn’t going to reverse the Ws. Hopefully Portland proposes a rule change that the league can adopt to address it in the future.

No one is blaming Utah. Utah is doing what they should be, trying to make plays in order to win the game. Sadly, Gobert made an illegal play and it is on the refs to make the right call, especially as obvious as that. Missed calls do happen all game, you're 100% correct. But you can't miss a call as obvious as that in the finals seconds of the game with it as close as it was and guarantee the victory for the other team.

Re: Dame Time on Twitter!
When a player scores a shot and gets awarded 3 pts, refs can later review it, without anybody challenging the call, to determine if it really is a 3 pter. If it’s not, they reduce that to 2 pts.
How does that rule work? Are there any limitations, i.e., can only do it in the first half, etc. or can they do that the entire game?
If so, why can’t they do it for goaltends? It’s not much different.

Luka joined the fun. Still hasn´t learned that complaining about missed calls won´t help him or Dame but I appreciate the effort.

But when you cry your way into all-star games, further social media crying isn't going to earn you much respect.
Please point out the all-star game that Lillard cried his way into instead of earned his way into.
Years ago. It's not relevant now, I think at this point Dame would trade all future All-Star games just to sneak into the playoffs this year. If he doesn't make it in it's going to suck. The injury luck this year has been insane for the Blazers.

That isn't really an answer. Lillard complained one season, and wasn't put in it (I think he should have been, but whatever). So you think one of the all-star games Lillard made after that he didn't deserve the selection? I would love to hear the case for which all-star game after that complaint he didn't actually deserve and only got in because of the complaint. Was it his very next all-star selection? The one during the season that he led Portland to the 3rd seed on 26.9/4.5/6.6? I'm genuinely curious, because I think it is a ridiculous take that one of his last 3 all-star selections (the only ones post complaint) was because of his public complaint.

to be fair to Dame, he was second team all-NBA and averaged 26 points the year that he complained about being snubbed from the all-star game.

I have no idea about this situation so I cant really comment but I would love to see the video. How does the ball go through the basket and you don't get awarded 2 points? Unless an offensive foul or something was called that makes no sense at all. But this has nothing to do with Dame being a "golden boy" or the Blazers for that matter. This could have happened to any team last night and it would be just as much BS still. And this play is what myself and many are asking for some sort of replay in system so you get this right. It was already an easy call to make, but the speed of the game is too much for these poor souls.
Just see for yourself.

Re: Dame Time on Twitter!
The Harden missed dunk call was ridiculous as well, and people did put up a little stink about it. People weren't as up in arms over it simply because there was time left, and Houston was up double digits. This Gobert goaltend would have tied a game with mere seconds left. There was enough time for the Jazz to get a good look to ice the game, but it's no guarantee they make it. Seems to me like it was a combination of the refs just wanting to end a chippy game, and Ariza going at one of them earlier just made the decision to turn a blind eye easier for them. The stakes were a lot higher here especially for an injured team fighting for the last spot in the playoffs. Feels like Houston fans ITT are just displaying their victim complex over Harden.

Blazers should protest that call. If I'm the league, I probably agree to it and have the 2 teams re-play that last remaining bit as a tie game.

You can’t take a still frame from this tho. From what I recall, Dame was already in upward motion before Baynes was set. It didn’t matter about restricted area or not. It was whether the player gathered the ball and was in motion to shoot/upward motion. Baynes wasn’t set.
Being a Blazer fan isn't exactly healthy.

And I'm sure he's the only player to ever say something about not being selected for the All Stsr Game.

If they didnt replay the Rockets game when Harden made the basket that wasnt recognized, they're not replaying this. Has the league ever replayed a game? I dont know what the purpose of complaining does.

We've always seen referees act spitefully, unprofessionally and right here we've seen referees deny an obvious goaltend when multiple of them had to have been looking at the ball. Sometimes it's a hard job, but this isn't some Hanlon's Razor bs.
Rules are rules. You can't overturn them. If you want you can do coaches challenge.

Ok, let's give them the call and replay the game. Now Utah has 9 seconds to score a basket. I'm fine with that. It's funny both times the Jazz got the benefit of a missed call it was on the front page of ESPN against the Pelicans and the Blazers. Anytime we have gotten the short end of the stick, only Jazz fans know.

The NBA today granted a game protest filed by the Miami Heat after its 117-111 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on December 19 at Philips Arena, which will result in the replay of the final 51.9 seconds of the game's overtime period with the Hawks leading 114-111. The replay will occur immediately prior to the next scheduled game between the two teams -- on March 8, 2008, also at Philips Arena.
