Harden has old man game that relies heavily on the skill and not athletism. Many people are right that him in Giannis' body would be just unfair.

A trick that takes an IMMENSE amount of skill to pull off at the rate James Harden does.

So what's your point again?

Yes because every 7 footer in history can dribble the ball like Giannis and playmake.
Thank God for Harden's notes.
Now Hassan Whiteside, Myles Turner, Willie Cauley Stein and all these guys can finally unlock their potential!

Giannis is basically Ben Simmons with a slightly better shot and he’s no where as complete as Harden

Giannis is more complete than Harden if you factor in defense , rebounding, playing off the ball/within a system not solely getting his. Again if you catagorize skill as purely shooting, ball handling, and passing, with everything else as pure athleticism (no skill), then by definition its impossible for Giannis to ever be more skilled than Harden (or any big compared to a wing). Harden is definitely more refined as a player but has also played longer. Calling Giannis a slightly better Simmons is an insult and shows the disrespect bigs/foreign players get vs. the perimeter guy.

I’ll give you rebounding and defence because Giannis is bigger, but how can you be better at playing off ball if you can’t shoot? All the all time off ball players, Curry, Klay, RIP HAMILTON, Durant etc could shoot. Playing off ball means you’re doing one of two things, cutting or being ready for the catch and shoot

This gif has layers.

On one hand, Giannis is throwing a shot at Harden.

On the other hand, this exemplifies Hardens point that Giannis is luckier but not as skilled.

You know how much skill it takes to intentionally whip a ball at that speed at someone's head?

screen, cut, crash boards....etc. Harden will not move from his spot off ball. Makes it much easier to guard him when the ball isnt in his hands

Well I mean Harden is better at every aspect of the game except defense, which also has a lot to do with physical advantages. Harden is just more skillful player, nothing wrong in noting it.

Crashing boards is part of rebounding. The problem is there are no other playmakers on the rockets beside Westbrook, so there is no one for Harden to screen for. But I agree that Giannis has some merits that I missed

Defense is 50% of the game. So if you exclude defense you exclude 50% of the game. That's one.
Harden's teammate Tucker is a great defender. What's his physical advantage?
Secondly, is Harden better by Giannis as an inside scorer? When did that happened?
Not to mention that if Giannis takes the same amount of shots and plays the same amount of minutes he will probably score more.
Giannis can do anything except shooting at a pretty good level. That sounds a lot more complete to me.

They are both wrong and ill informed. So, is Rachel Nichols and most of the Stans for both players posting in this thread.

Paraphrasing...

Giannis - I don't want James on my team because he's a selfish ball hog who doesn't pass.

Rachel - But you're 10th is assists and your coach says your one of the best play makers in the game.

James - Yes, I wish I was a 7-foot athletic freak who can only dunk. That doesn't take any skill.

Both players, the media and the fan bois all perpetuating the same lame arguments against both players.

Over the last four NBA seasons, here's a list of all the players with more than 2000 total assists:

Russell Westbrook - 2790
James Harden - 2526
LeBron James - 2420

So yes, James does pass the basketball.

But...

2019-20 AST%:
James Harden - 34.2
Giannis - 33.7

So James, the 7-foot, unskilled, athletic freak who only dunks is just as good a play maker as you. If you consider that one of your skills, you also need to admit that a 7-foot power forward who creates for his teammates at the same rate you do is also a skilled player and not just an athletic freak who only dunks.

Both great players, both childish, thin skinned and ignorant. Want to shut up your critics? Just win baby. Until either of you wins a title, the hot takes will continue.

Good to know that even Harden's come-back/trash talk game is weak as ****. No problem with him shooting back at Giannis. Maybe he can actually back it up on the court this time?
