Unfortunately, he will. Finch will want to see what he's working with.

I can't make an argument that Saunders deserved to keep his job.
But I think Taylor made 2 key mistakes here:

1.) Not sending Rosas and the rest of the front office packing with him
2.) Letting Rosas hire a replacement when it is inevitable he is the next one out the door, and handing him a multiple year deal to a new head coach while trying to sell the team.

This roster is terrible and that is not on Ryan. He did everything Rosas asked including implementing his moronic 5 out scheme without the players to even run it, scrapping his playbook and letting them run Rosas free flow &%$!show. (Has anything we've run the past 2 years resembled anything from Flips playbook?). He played his not ready for prime time, statistically by far worst player in the NBA #1 pick 30+ minutes and handed him a starting spot.

Rosas needs to go, this roster is awful. Nobody other than KAT would fetch more than a late 1st in next years draft (and that includes Beasley and Edwards).

Taylor also needs to sell. I have no confidence in us ever winning until someone else is ultimately making the final decision.
I have no clue how he made his billions because he has the worst sports owner acumen I've ever seen and made some of the worst management hires and evaluations in all of sports.

His POBO has turned over the entire roster short of KAT and Okogie (mortgaging vital future assets in the process), and now has a roster full of mentally soft, low BBIQ players and major position imbalance problems.

Ryan isnt going to be unemployed for long though, he is a good assistant coach and has a good relationship with players.
He's better as a player development type assistant.
I think the big chair is just a bit too much at this point and he doesn't have enough gravitas to keep those big egos in check.

Big winner longterm in Timberwolves coaching change: Jaden McDaniels.

Finch was key in development of Brandon Ingram the last few years. McDaniels has some similarities in frame and skill set.

TOR has done a really good job these last few years getting a lot out of their players, many who come in with worse pedigrees than ours. Siakim, Anunoby, heck, Norm Powell, and obviously Van Vleet have far surpassed expectations. I don’t know how much of their success is from Nick Nurse, or the TOR organization, but if part of it comes from Finch, I’m happy to have him on this team.

What about him? He heads up our defense. He should be the next to go. Reputations only last so long.

This was Finch's first season with Toronto. New Orleans and Denver were his previous two stops.

the defense has looked better recently...so I don't mind Vanterpool continuing if he is the one who is incharge of defense..they rank 23rd in Defensive rating so far this season despite ton of injuries and having lot of young players..it's the offense which has been god awful...just extremely basic and disgusting to watch..in the previous seasons, the offense still was decent as long as KAT was on court...this is like the first time I can remember the offense isn't good even when KAT is on court.

I'm shocked we went outside the organization mid season and didn't roll with Vanterpool as interim, but I guess Rosas thought we needed a fresh face to take over.

I am really proud of this team doing the unexpected and going outside for Finch. A fresh face is exactly what they need.

I have a higher opinion of Rosas right now.

I think this team is better than their record...my frustrations with Ryan mainly had to do with some of his rotations (mainly sticking with Okogie for a while) and his 4th Qtr time management, execution. This team has lost so many 4th Qtr leads this season..so far this season, the team has had a lead at some point of 4th Qtr in 19 out of 31 games but only ended up winning 7 of those 19 games...that's just horrendous. I don't have a clue about Chris Finch..just hope he is atleast an average coach

So...any bets Saunders go to a new team and win a championship? Lol I am only laughing because it is just our luck that it would happen. This was absolutely the right move, surprised it took this long, but I have seen damn strange things happen to this franchise.

Criticism of Okogie has been well deserved. When Culver comes back I'd trade Ologie for an expiring.

Let’s hope stand around ball is dead. Let’s hope small ball is replaced by let’s put the best group to get the W every night. Let’s hope Finch can actually lead instead of sucking up and buddying up to the players in a transparent attempt to keep a job that the coach obviously never should have had. Let’s hope Finch can actually teach these kids where to run when a shot goes up. I seriously doubt anyone can suck worse than Ryan, and I hope to god Finch actually deserves this opportunity.

I ask you this.

Are we still on the tank?

The losses will still keep coming.. it's the same young list... We hit reset on the excuses... New system, new coach, injuries, no pre season.. bla bla bla...

I hate that he’s almost blaming Taylor for allowing Saunders to be fired. Taylor should have never insisted he get hired in the first place. I don’t know if Saunders ever gets another HC job, but he’s always going to tainted by this disaster, which he was no way prepared to undertake.

I feel bad for Rosas from a coach choosing standpoint. But Rosas’ biggest flaw is he can’t identify talent. DLo, Culver, and Edwards, his biggest three evaluations, have all been disasters.

Nope, we are gonna go on a winning streak run and make the play in games. There’s still 40+ Games left

Losing is one thing, but the manner in which this team lost games under Saunders is what left fans shaking their heads.

Yep! That's it.

It was clearly time. Bold move. Great choice in Finch.

I think mostly everything Ryan was doing was stuff Rosas dictated. I hope this new coach has his own say and I really hope this is the end of small ball.

The worst part of this for the wolves is that yet again we got another coach and yet again we have to relearn a system and a bunch of crap. No consistency with this damn squad. Glen should have let Rosas hire who he wanted from the start if this is the case, that's 2 years wasted.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.
