It's not the same thing and you know it. There's nothing to interpret here, what you see is fact in basketball. I remember a few seasons ago Chris Paul danced on Gobert and then blew by him for a layup. His DPOY case ended there for me. Every season I see him have a defensive play where he gets destroyed. You can't be considered the best defender if you make mistakes or get beat.

It’s is interesting from a clippers fan perspective how the Jazz were wiped out 3-1 as well and Rudy still kept his reputation. Even this season there is a strong chance if the right small ball roster gets the 8th seed he might get played off the floor again.

Have to see but in general best defensive player in itself hasn’t panned out well for the team concept besides AD
