You said Jokic was an awful defender which is false, now your moving goal posts and saying people are saying Jokic is as good of a defender as Embiid. No one said that. Embiid aint in the same stratosphere as Jokic offensively either. Nuggets have been playing great defense ever since Murray went down.
Dirk was never a bad defender either but what can I expect from an Embiid stan who ranks Embiid higher than Hakeem.

But keep it up with the bad takes bud. Lets keep acting like Embiid is a winner when he is a big playoff loser. Getting destroyed 4-0 in the first round.

Lol I said talk as if! You guys were talking as if he was as good as a defender as Embiid.

An no he isn’t a good defensive player at all. Why do you think he is a good defensive player? I stand by him being a turnstile on defense. He has never impressed me with his defense because he isn’t a good defender. Sheesh you Jokic fans need to fall of his you know what for a second, and understand he isn’t Perfect lol

For some reason many fans, media, and current/former players have issues with Jokic being the MVP.

If Steph wins it’ll be a complete upheaval of the way we’ve viewed MVP up until this point. The mantra has always been if your team isn’t a top team in the league you cannot be MVP. This is what cost Lebron several times, Kobe in the late 2000s, Wade a handful of times etc. It’s just never worked that way. Steph shouldn’t be an exception to this, no matter how bad the mainstream media wants him to get it. If he wins Jokic will be the most robbed MVP of all time and it won’t even be close.

And I'll give zero effs if it happens lol. We're all fans first.

But yeah, Jokic deserves it. Like I said.

The world needs a Sixers Vs Nuggets finals so Joel can finally show you Jokic fans what an Elite defensive player looks like or what an Elite two way player looks like.

NBA PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Because he isn’t a good defensive player. He will be the worst defensive MVP since Nash. Even Harden played better defense his MVP season than Jokic this year.

Lmao, nobody know what elite defense is but you? We are so honered by your presence.

Come back when your elite defender Embiid doesn't have his team defense get worse when his elite perimeter defender is on the court, or when he stops giving up more as points at the rim than Jokic, or when he is able to get his team out of the 1stbround without multiple all star quality teammates.

Jokic was the center of a good conference finals team that was missing a starter the entire playoffs, yet he cannot win because Hussein Fatal says he can't.

The 76ers and their fans should be hoping they don't get swept in the 1st round again, yet you want to talk finals?

Jokic is winning, it's already a given based on what people who voted said.

Cool and my magical eye test shows Embiid is overrated on both ends and made out of glass. Not even the best defender on his own team and gets swept by trash teams in the playoffs without his 2nd best player.

So yea have fun rooting for the playoff loser Glassbiid who can't do anything without Simmons.

Yes trashy hot takes are quite fun.

I picked up on this as well. A lot of current and former players are picking Curry and I happen to agree. Jokic is having a great season so I feel bad for some of the hate he gets on the national scene.

But for Curry to duplicate his unanimous MVP stats with the attention he gets on defense (and with his D league teammates to boot) is nothing short of a MVP year. I agree with Lebron, Ja Morant, Big Perk, and Kyle Kuzma. Guys who actually play against the other candidates.

Most are getting stuck on his team being an 8th seed but shouldn’t the massive improvement in wins compared to last year count for something?

The one who can possibly be eliminated from making the playoffs tonight?

Seriously how is this even possible?

Jokic should and will win it.

Maybe he should get the award unanimously as opposed to Embiid and Curry, Embiid missed too many games and Steph probably also did as well as only taking his team to 8th, but if people want to talk historical precedent team record comes strongly into that and the record of his team is good but not great, and imo gives voters some opportunity to have individual criteria for the award; If someone wanted to vote for Giannis or CP3 I don't see how that would be totally unreasonable. The unanimous Curry MVP thing actually hadn't occurred to me, everyone knows there should have been other unanimous MVPs.

Jokic. He led the league in VORP, BPM, Win Shares, and WS/48.

Who do I want right now out of anyone in the league? Steph Curry.

Are you serious?

Do you watch any games? Come again when you see Beal being double and triple teamed the moment he crosses half court (because he is surrounded by G League talent and noone else is capable of scoring) and still turns out as the league's scoring champion.

I vote for Jokic because at some point he cant be overlooked, and this should be his season. But what Steph has done the whole year, managing to lift this dumpster fire of a roster to the verge of the post season, is superhuman. Maybe you dont like him, but you shouldnt disrespect what he has done.
I watch Luka dobled and tripled every game, Beal lead very bad Wizards roster to PO last year, he wasn't consedered for MVP,and is also doubled, before Wstbrook, who was exactly the good scorer next to Beal? Curry has been amazing the last 2 months, but there is no objective metric that puts him ahead of Giannis, for the whole season, I wouldn't put him above Luka and Dame really.

Well On/Off +- Steph has him beat, 8.6 vs. 6.7. They have the same VORP and Giannis has slightly higher BPM. They're closer than you're making it out to be. It's certainly fair to wonder why Giannis's name isn't coming up though, but people rarely get a 3rd MVP with worse stats than the prior 2 seasons.

Jokic had a great year but honestly he is overkill for that Nuggets team. They are full of guards who can handle the ball. Yes the offense runs through him but with Murray (when healthy) it certainly doesn't need to.

I know it isn't supposed to take into account the playoffs but I'd like to see how both Embiid and Jokic do. Both have a ton to prove.

I'm sorry for the off-topic-ish question, but did I read that right?

Hussien Fatal, have you ever posted here saying that Embiid is a better player than Hakeem? As in seriously, unironically claiming Embiid is a better basketball player than Olajuwon? Please tell me Woodsanity was just teasing you here, or that he didn't notice whatever tongue in cheek tone you used when writing such a hilarious post, if it ever existed?

On topic: Jokic deserves to be called this season's MVP, no doubt about it. As for who's the better player among those three (or among any number of superstars), that's an entirely different question, unless we're ready to defend the notion that Harden, Westbrook, Durant and Rose were better players than LeBron when they won.

Jokic has the credentials: his team's record, his impact as proven by advanced stats, his offensive prowess being almost unmatched, his defensive presence being good enough to not hurt his case, his lack of superstar teammates to make it clear who's doing the carry job in the Nuggets, his availability for the duration of the season.

The other two players did amazingly well of course, and nobody -I hope- is saying they suck or anything close to that. They were awesome candidates that will bring stature to the debate and make it an honor for the winner to beat such strong contenders. But they don't check all the boxes like Jokic does for this year. It's as simple as that.
