It's mostly the first game (in which we shot 31/21/73 and scored 83 points on 39 TS%) that is dragging our numbers down. We scored 115 on 53 TS% against the Celtics, 95 on 50 TS% against the Mavs and 108 on 59 TS% against the Bulls. We'd be ~20th in those three categories if our first game wasn't what may arguably be our ugliest offensive game by the end of the year.

but then you would have to not count a stinker from all other teams as well...

That's not the point I was trying to make. We always knew our offence wasn't going to be great this season -- especially with Siakam out -- but it has been trending upwards to ~20th the last few games rather than at the absolute bottom of the league.

Nurse is getting an unfair rep in regards to his offensive coaching on this board IMO

2019 Team offense: 5th in ORTG,
2020 Team offense: 14th in ORTG
2021 Team offense: 16th in ORTG

Give him weapons and he could coach them to a top 5 offense.

Dont think it's hard to have a top 5 offensecwhen you have one of the greatest offensive players in the league... notice how the offense dipped when kawhi left? You can say that about any coach...

He doesn't have ball handling and passing, while he cannot defend C (and sometimes can't boxout with his lack of strength).

If he can only play the C spot, I think we might trade him, as this is his contract year.

Birch sucks. It's why I said Precious needs to be the starting C the moment I saw him in summer league. I'm glad to see Nurse agrees.

I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to win this. If you're looking to indulge and dip your hand in the excuses cookie jar:

The Wizards? First game rust.
The Celtics blowout W? Yeah that's what's supposed to happen.
The Mavs L? 2nd game of a b2b.
The Bulls? Close game with an outlying number of turnovers.

I disagree. Mark Jackson Warriors that had Curry Klay & Dray: 12th in ORTG
2020 LA Lakers with AD and Bron: 11th in ORTG

Its not as simple as having an elite scorer and getting carried to a good offense. Besides, Kawhi for as good as he is has never been described as the kind of guy who can solo carry an offense like Harden/Doncic/Young Bron

I also think the fact he got 16th in a year where our roster relied on guys like Baynes, Bembry, Yuta, speaks volumes. I do think alot of issues will get cleaned up when we get Siakam back who actually is a threat to score
