Casey has no balanced offense, we are going nowhere with this guy. You have to have a balanced offense, you can't just chuck 3 after 3 when they aren't falling. He is a huge part of the reason we are down in this game.

Doesn't even look like we are running set plays. Just winging it. Only time it looked like called plays was when he got up to call killian's number.

At the Lions game today--which was probably the most embarrassing performance by the Lions I can recall in a looooong time--a guy sitting in front of me was lamenting to his buddy about how bad the Lions' situation was, and his buddy said "Yeah, and the Pistons aren't going anywhere either." Now, as shocking as this may sound, I am NOT a quiet/shy person who avoids speaking out. I said "What are you talking about? The Pistons just got the #1 pick, have some good young players and are definitely on the way to putting it together." He said "Yeah, but they still suck." I said "Yeah, that often comes with rebuilding and having a young team."

So which one of you guys was it?

I do trust in Weaver and he will realize that Casey is a stop gap until we are ready for a real coach. I mean, the constant 3 pointer attempts are just so dumb, and many of the Nets points came on great looks after we missed 3 pointers. This has to stop.

watched the game most of the first half, stopped when the vikings game started.

the team was playing pretty well offensively which was a breath of fresh air.

There is a difference between hating on a team and being critical of their flaws. Do I expect a win here? Of course not. Brooklyn is a much better, talented team with all star vets, are at home, and we are playing a back to back. But there are areas we can improve and I'm going to mention them. The defense hasn't been bad. Brooklyn is knocking down shots with hands in their faces. Also forced 6 turnovers on a veteran team. But the coaching is dismal here. There is no set plays being ran. Anyone who has played basketball in their life can tell by watching.

For some dumb reason, Weaver recently gave Casey an extension thru the 23-24 season.

So unfortunately we're likely stuck with Dwane until at least the end of the 22-23 season.

I couldn't stop watching the Lions game, it was like some sick, twisted car accident that you can't turn away from because you can't believe what you are seeing.

How on earth could they come out at home and get destroyed like that? They played tough against the Ravens, Viks, Rams, so there is no way they are this bad against a bad Eagles team. Have they quit on DC already?

Never been a fan of an offense where it’s pass, pass, pass, CHUCK, that many passes and a good open shot is fine, but way too many chucked shots. I like seeing KO rolling to the rim on the P and R. Love that he tries to dunk in close too. Need to attack the paint more. Casey just seems like a lazy coach. Since he’s been coach I’ve seen no semblance of an offense just lots of chucking threes.

I hate hearing that but he can still fire him after next season. I hate the thought of him coaching even that long.

I mean, just watching this half of ball is astonishing. We take 3 after 3, falling or not. He doesn't even have a half court set offense actually designed for paint production. He takes out too many starters at once, stays with some lineups far too long.

He is THE reason we are down this bad. He continues to want 3 pointers when they are not falling, that's what is so mind blowing. 14-43 last night, 43 3 pointers, it's like that's all he can even focus on in running an offense. The Nets come down, work it low to Aldridge ON PURPOSE, not because they can't first get an open 3, they actually run plays for their post guys. It's amazing.

Sure he "CAN" fire him earlier, but that would make ole Troy look incredibly bad. If he fires him the year after extending him, all he did was gift Casey $8 million for no particular reason.

I want Casey gone as much as anybody, but with that exntension we're likely going to have to endure him through next season at a minimum.

it's pretty common practice to not let coaches go into a contract year. especially with a team like us, you want the coach to focus on player development and not worry about wins to keep his job.

casey is definitely a stop-gap coach for us, it'll be interesting to see what weaver does when we progress from rebuilding mode.

I hate the “New NBA” there are these shot inside the three point line that usually fall at a much higher percentage than all the three pointers. If only our coach knew that. Hard to believe.

Give Casey an extra year to keep the tank going, while biding time for Howard to want to take a crack at coaching in the NBA. Casey totally remade his staff - do folks think that was his choice to bring in so many developmental coaches?
Weaver = Hinkie
VW to Portland

Beef Stew popping threes with 20 seconds on the shot clock, pretty sure that is not winning basketball.

Sure, except Casey wouldn't have been in "lame duck" status. He still had 2 years left on his contract before the extension.

3 after 3 after 3, if they go in the paint, the only plan is get it back out for a 3

I'm not going to bark too much about this loss, assuming it comes. This team just doesn't have guys who can consistently hit jumpers, 3 pointer or not, and tonight is a b2b. Lots of shots off the front of the rim.
