We need more consistency from him on the offensive end overall. The team had a comfortable lead in the 2nd half so it’s not really an issue. But in tight games against good teams, we won’t be running away with games like this. We’ll need him to be a serviceable 1st option through both halves, even with adjustments

Every star sees defenses adjust on them

Yup and a lot of those missed were him trying to force it through a defence that was trying to stop him. Then he stopped doing that, made a few plays, and then the floor opened up again for him. Go figure.

Again, I don’t know what you want from the man. He brought it home in the 4th when the team was going into a drought. So he stepped up when stars are supposed to. Don’t know what the issue is.

Plus he’s been playing great D in the last four.

And again, that’s why I said he had a solid game overall. I didn’t say he was bad in the 2nd half. Just said he was inefficient

He definitely still contributed in the 2nd half in other ways, which is a big reason why I actually like Pascal. He finds ways to contribute even when he isn’t scoring

My only criticism is the inconsistency throughout a full game. And it’s not about tonight. I’m looking more at the sample of the games we’ve seen so far this season

Yet he’s been pretty balanced throughout both halves this season except for this game and the last (ask Yogurt Producer for the stat).

Anyway, when he’s not going nuclear and teams don’t throw extra attention at him in the second half he’s been productive with his scoring throughout. The last couple games he had first halves that both have probably been the best halves he has ever played so naturally defences loaded up on him in the second halves of those games and naturally his scoring became less efficient.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

He has a good game and the immediate question is: why wasn’t he perfect from the field?

Very nice game from near everyone and really nice to see Fred only play 33 minutes and kind of take it easy.

Will be interesting to see Malachi play with the 905 tomorrow morning. I assume he will be since it was hinted at.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

He didn't score 40 points.

We won by 12. There were lots of open looks we missed, and we could have won by a lot more. But we didn't, and part of that was what seems to me like bad officiating. But maybe I'm just watching through Raptors-coloured glasses?

I went back and looked at the 2-minute report from the Milwaukee game, because I was convinced that some of those calls were wrong. But the NBA said they were all right, even that unusual jump by Middleton into Precious on the 3.

honestly, this could have been a blowout, but our offense is still so doodoo... at least our defense was better/wiz were missing shots, but yeah this isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for an uptick for the season...

like i've said previously, i'm wondering if they're ever gonna improve their ball movement this season, but it's obvious there's just not enough of a focus on it in practice and/or the personnel is just so offensively inept in terms of their overall awareness...

that being said, these are things that can be fixed/coached but i really don't think their system is any good... this system is fine when you have a star to carry you, and you can just rely on defense and that one star to pick up the slack when the offense goes cold, but there's really not enough movement and/or team play. it's disappointing considering we lack star talent and we have so many above average players that would benefit from just more movement and fluidity. it also would work if your ball creators were ones that could blow by defenses easily and therefore shift the defense and create scrambles and quick swings, but again it's just not suited to the current personnel of average dribble creation. i wonder if this is ever gonna change until they move certain players or change the hierarchy.

Anyways, done with talking about this. Some of you guys are too soft to handle even the slightest bit of criticism. Good win. Done for the night. Cheers

Some of these guys are just mad the team sucks and can't really blame them. When you get as high as the Raps did last several years, its hard to buy into a rebuild. Part of being a fan, can't see your team lose.

how can one not buy into a rebuild though. realistically what is this team's ceiling? it's first round fodder AT BEST. the people that think it's more are just too heavily invested in certain players.

That’s literally what we are doing right now. We are rebuilding. We are also the least experienced team in the entire league.

You don’t think it’s good for young teams to get a taste of the playoffs? You don’t think Barnes would benefit from getting some playoff experience?

Can you name me any players that won the championship in their first playoff appearance and not having experienced losing?

This really has nothing to do with going into a rebuild. I don't even understand what you're trying to say. A guy has been **** on all season, especially by me, but tonight he put in a near complete performance. Probably not the game to be criticizing him.

Would I like him to score more second-half points, absolutely. I'm hoping this is the start of something for him.

You made a ridiculous assumption that a player has to be, or should be just as efficient in the first half as the second. Like variance and the defence he faces doesn't exist or change. Don't blame other people for your bad take and then keep entrenching in responses and expect otherwise.

On another note, pretending people are responding because someone else thinks the team sucks... well that's nuts.

Bradley Beal finally has a reasonably deep team and he's shooting the worst TS% in his career. Go figure.

The Raptors played well overall. Good contribution by everyone on a night where the backcourt was off offensively.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

They are all busy gaming it up on NBA 2K21 in GM mode. Scotty Barnes 40 field-goal attempts per game. No need to summon them, Let's not ruin a good thing.
