Nobody watched, cared about, or respects the bubble. Not my opinion, just facts about viewership and how people treat that ring. So basically he's just torpedoed the franchise for nothing

How is it so hard for people to understand that Lebron was disliked by many Laker fans before he came here? Why is it so hard for people to accept that many Laker fans out there refused (and still do) to just suddenly start liking the guy just because he came to our favorite team?

"Ohh but he brought yall a championship. You should be happy" Nah I'm good. They barely beat a Miami Heat team that wasn't even 100%. I'm supposed to be impressed by that? I'll pass. I'd like to know why people wanna put all the attention on Kobes fans every time this topic comes up. Why can't other Laker greats like Shaq, Magic Johnson, Kareem or/and Wilt fans also not be happy that Lebron came to the team? or even simply the fans of the team in general. We don't have to like this guy if we choose not to. If you want to be his fan you do you because threads like this will never change anything.

If you’re a dedicated LeBron fan, you’ve seen your idol win 4 rings and…
  • Burn his bridges with Cavs fans.
  • Burn his bridges with Heat fans.
  • ReBurn his bridges with Cavs fans.
  • Rent the throne in the Kobe fans’ castle.
  • Invite Lakers fans with torches and pitchforks coming this season’s end.

hes not even a top 10 laker so its okay to treat him as a outsider and hate him. he holds little value to lakers franchise history.
a title is a title but its way different if you win as wolve or king compared to lakers. if your a laker, your expected to be a dynasty team. anything below is a failure. lebron is already is in 4th yr and won only 1 lakers would have easily won without him.

Name 9 Lakers better than LeBron James.

Go on, I’ll wait.

Kareem, Kobe, Magic, Wilt, Shaq, Baylor, West, Mikan are 100% I'd argue Worthy, Gasol, McAdoo also were better Lakers.

Lebron is a better player but those guys did a hell of a lot more for the Lakers in their careers.

LeBron is better than most of those guys. I’m far from a LeBron fan but let’s be real.

Because he’s so much better than Kobe and the Kobe fanboys can’t accept that.

Lebron sounds like a person whos good at (re?)building bridges: going back to his original workplace for multiple years.

I also don't think he, or any player, has a direct relationship with fans, contrary to your paragraph and Simpsons GIF. Fans paying for the tickets makes them as entitled to having relationships with people who run the organizations supplying the clothes they wear, the food they eat, the economy they contribute to, etc. In today's existing economy, these are indirect relationships that are meaningful (im not denying the importance or differences of being a fan: esp since fandom generates revenue): but thats the type of access that exists (relatively), regardless of how much money is made by the individual human athlete.

-longtime Kobe fan, whos now enjoying LeBrons contributions to the game, on and off.

Lebron came down here, made cringe comment after cringe comment, predicted 8 championships, crapped the bed in 2011, and then we had to have the entire team sit back and take a role player role to let Lebron "shine"..... and then when it didn't suit Lebron anymore, he ditched us.

Ya'll act like Lebron did Miami a favor. It the opposite. Miami rescued Lebron from rotting away in Cleveland with those terrible rosters and contracts in 2010. Where was lebron going to go? The Knicks?

Not sure what he said that is wrong. The heat absolutely could have won titles with Wade, Bosh and another max guy. Not to discount that Lebron did a ton for them but typically when LeBron leaves a team he mortgages your future and it takes a long time to come back from it after he leaves. Whether that is worth one or two titles is debatable. As a Celtics fan I wouldn't let one player nuke my teams future for 4-5 years for a single title for sure.

Your team has won 1 title since 1986 and only made it to 2 finals since 1987. LeBron’s 4 years in Miami and 4 years in Cleveland were both more successful than your team’s last 3+ decades.

That doesn't explain some Heat fans hating him too, like me.

The reason is simple.

Lebron is the most unlikeable superstar in sports history. He's incredibly fake, manufactured, and selfish. Lebron only cares about Lebron and will use anyone to try and prop himself up.

Even Kobe, with his huge ego, never came out and said "That right there makes me the greatest ever" like Lebron did about the 2016 finals.

Lebron is a never ending factory of cringe.

"Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7...."

He is the BIGGEST front runner I've ever seen in sports. And it's not just about basketball.

Lebron will front run politics if it means it will help his brand. Remember the China thing? Lebron quick to run his mouth on EASY political stances in america, but when it hurts his bottom line $$$$, he defends China.

I can go on and on. His passive aggressive twitter comments, his fake personality, his stat padding, everything.

You described a guy that knows how to sell his fish and win some sports title along the way.

I see nothing to hate the guy for, he is smart, he knows his business, he gets the job done.

So where was LeBron going to be all those seasons? You assuming LeBron would just stay in Cleveland? Why wouldn't he also join a superior cast, and LeBron is the best and most durable of those three players. Come on, lol.

Do you remember Lebron in 2010?

He had no clue how to win or build a roster. It was Miami who taught him to surround himself with 3pt shooters and to evolve his game past what it was.

His other option was what? the Knicks? They had nobody on the roster. Carmelo didn't get there until 2011. And even then.. 2010 was a different time. Bosh had already committed to being with Wade and Miami.

Lebron was not going to compete anywhere unless he went to form a superteam in Miami.

Where are we getting this "LeBron didn't know how to win" nonsense from?

Make no mistake about it, a lot of the things you have said about him in this thread are actually true, but him "not knowing how to win" is complete nonsense. It wouldn't have mattered if LeBron surrounded himself with shooters or not. He needed another all star player on his team and he never had that in Cleveland. Miami didn't teach him how to do anything. He just needed a better supporting cast, that's it. He could've went to Chicago instead and odds are he would've bounced the Heat out of the playoffs on a regular basis.

also he has a very weird little army of minions. many of them are on this board. especially the PC board where you cannot say a negative thing about him without getting jumped. thats not good for your likeability. which is funny because LeBron himself isn't too sensitive to that stuff

Kobe fans stood on a island for years saying Kobe was better than Lebron. Their island was quite big as many other fans and talking heads agreed with this take. As the years passed more and more people left this island as it became evident Lebron was vastly superior. In the end the island was left with only Kobe fans who remained steadfast on their bad take that no one else agreed with.

And then Lebron joined the Lakers. This left them confused. Confused and angry. Nobody likes being both confused and angry. Like that Dad in Ozark that died and was in the closet. Poor Kobe fans.

Over the hill mercenary whose only accomplishment would be asterisked if a non-mainstream team won the covid cup.

Lakers fans are accustomed to career-long legends.

Because he is repugnant and selfish. Team (and the world for that matter), revolves around him and it cant be any other way.

Well said, This is how I feel. But when Kobe stood up and said “Laker fans have to fall in line and root for Lebron” I did that out of respect. I’ll never criticize Lebron while he wears the purple & gold.

But I disagree with people saying we’re jealous of Lebron because of what he accomplished over Kobe. Very easy to look good and win when you’re jumping from team to team and tampering to stack up talent

They hated him since he was in compairisons with Kobe. They hated him more once the comparison was over and they saw LeBron was better. Years of hating won't go away with 1 championship.

The PC Board likes LeBron because a ton of evidence goes arround in there. So if you bring a statement you should back it up, if it's just narrative people will show you're wrong. Talk like "killer instinct" and all that mambo jambo narrative won't go welll in the PC Board.
