Do we burn Romano on the 9th for the 3-run save??
Feels pretty safe. Does Romano have a monopoly on saves? Should we preserve him for tomorrow?

What a pretty game that was. Some gorgeous defensive plays, quality hitting, everything just firing together.
161-1. Let's make it happen.

Schedule is brutal first 6 weeks, endless Sox, Yanks, Rays and Astros. These early wins are huge.

Always so satisfying to beat the stankies! Manoah was so good. I absolutely love this kids makeup and composure and presence on the mound. He's def a big game guy.

I think we keep running him out there. They've said they won't run him out three nights straight, which sounds reasonable. This is three appearances in four nights, which is excessive, but things will even out over the year.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I was fine with it. And I missed that they’ve said they won’t run him out three nights in a row… so that’s very good.
Instinctually, I don’t like when a team suddenly “owes” the player a situation or the player feels slighted. It boxes the team in. But in this case, with Montoyo, maybe taking discretion out of the equation isn’t a bad thing! Lol

Just curious, would there be any downside of calling up Moreno, while Jansen is out?

Why call up Moreno when we have elite DH Zack Collins /s
But on a real note I think if we wait a bit we get an extra year of control.

Is there a starter-catcher combo with more collective pounds between them than Manoah-Kirk? Love it. They've gotta be pushing 550 lbs.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.
