Hornets are the simplest 3rd team, I'd think.

MKE out: Lopez, Allen, IND '25 2nd
MKE in: Brogdon

IND out: Brogdon, McConnell
IND in: Hayward, #13, IND '25 2nd

CHA out: Hayward, #13
CHA in: Lopez, Allen, McConnell
-------------------------------------------
MKE in: Tate
HOU in: Hill, MKE '28 1st swap, PDX '24 2nd

#24 - Dalen Terry
tMLE - Hartenstein

Brogdon / Carter
Holiday / Connaughton
Middleton / Terry
Giannis / Tate
Portis / Hartenstein

Brook Lopez is on an expiring contract after which there seems to be a reasonable likelihood he'd come back on a very modest deal and transition to being a backup.

Brogdon is owed $22 million through 24-25.

I could see there being an argument for sending out Lopez to bring Malcolm back if their contracts were the same / similar. If Lopez is expected to have more serious health issues moving forward it'd be different than if we think he'll go back to being a reliable rotation player for us too.

Brogdon is very effective when he's on the court but it's such a question to what extent he can stay on the court. If Suki thought she could fix him we probably wouldn't have let him go in the first place as well.

That and if ownership is being cheap no way would they want to spend that kind of luxury tax (much less repeater penalties) on a part time player who'll become harder to trade if the injuries keep piling up.

Does anyone know the option deadlines for Pat and Bobby?

I'd go after Brogdon and I would offer our 1st rounder if needed with Lopez and Allen. He would be one heck of a 4th option and would be our best ball handler.

Indy should be adding value to Brogdon, guy has only played in half the games the last two years and has three years left at $22M per.

Unless you’re keeping him in bubble wrap until March every season, forget it.

I don’t think it costs a first to dump Hayward. He only has two years remaining and he is a decent player when he plays. Charlotte should have suitors for him, especially if they are taking back salary in return.

Player options should have to be decided before the draft.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think what you want to say is the draft should be at the beginning of the league year, not the end, and after FA begins.

I shouldn't be shocked by this but the fact that Khris is only 1 year older than Brogdon will continue to blow my mind. Its fairly unlikely Brogdon's injury history will improve once hitting 30

I am not trading Lopez for Brogdon.

Did you guys see how bad our team was when Lopez was hurt? The defense and rebounding was HORRIBLE! Unless we can get Mark Williams in the draft or an upgrade at center in the trade, Lopez is staying put.

If Brogdon was an ironman he’d be making north of $30 million a season and wouldn’t be available so I don’t think he’s overpaid. There are devastating injuries which permanently limit a player and then there are wear n tear ones that can be worked around. Its not like he’s Jabari with Tongan knews or whatever. Was Manu Ginobili worth the risk keeping around? I remember the Bucks turning their nose up at a young Steph Curry because they didn’t want another delicate player after Bogut. Embiid? Come on! That line of thinking carries its own risk too.

PREACH. It's weird when folks are like, "Get him in a room with Suki!" as if she makes people invincible.

She was around for Jabari right? Or was that shortly before?

If you can get Brogdon for scraps go for it, he will never play deep into the playoffs unless he’s coming off a injury that kept him out the second half of the season though. His body can’t handle 80+ games of regular season and playoffs combined.

Our regular season team would get back to destroying guys again.

Agreed. But there’s too many teams that are seemingly interested in him for him to go for literal scraps. It would cost us someone significant IMO.
