You forget the third type; those that pretend some kind of moral superiority to make them feel better about their lives; you.

Again, boo hoo.

lol lol moral superiority huh, that's how you look at it. Have a good one.

Pretend moral superiority.

You have a good one too.

It's actually a pretty unique situation.

Westbrook doesn't need to hit a higher percentage to stop getting criticized, he just needs to stop taking so many shots.

There have been good point guards who can't shoot (Kidd, Rondo, Rubio, etc)...and they'd be doing themselves and their team a disservice if they tried to take on a major scoring load.

The flak Westbrook gets is less for actually shooting a low percentage and more for failing to understand this and curtailing his own liabilities when it should be really easy to just shoot less often. Shooting less often wouldn't detract from any of his other talents.

It's true. Westbrook thinks he's a big dog and he really isnt. At his best, he was a weak scorer but had other pluses which elevated his game to solid offensive play. It's been years since he was a worthwhile focal offensive player or second option, and his game is limited enough that he has very poor portability. He is outright bad in a high-volume role these past few years/half decade or so. Criticism, including nicknames, is somewhat inevitable.

If it came up in conversation, sure. But would you really seek out a player you dont think well of for conversation? So this is sort of a weird benchmark.

Would I say "you are a laughingstock and considering something of an oxygen thief who ruins teams relative to your peers?" No, but like if the man asked my opinion (which he never would), I sure wouldnt lir to him...

So this is what Ham meant when he wanted Russ to play more defense. Off to a hot start.

Yes, absolutely this.

I’ll add that I’m not really defending Skip here- I have issue with career critics who make a living speaking negatively of others while risking nothing themselves.

But Russ needs to get thicker skin and it’s totally fair to acknowledge that he’s probably feeling that way because there’s something to it.

Westbrook has no self awareness and neither does his wife. They made a huge deal about this a few months ago which is why it keeps coming up. If they didn't go into that ridiculous diatribe on twitter and RW saying really stupid things in the press conference and making it a huge deal it would have blown over in a day and no one would call him that now.

He's looking for sympathy for a third grade insult.

He's not a good shooter, does that mean he's entitled to passive aggressive retorts from ppl who couldn't do 1% of all the other things on the court. Grade A losers.

He chirps back at the losers and somehow he shouldn't care what other ppl say? this man skip is on national TV and YouTube disrespecting his name constantly and Westbrook is the loser. Chumps, primetime chumps if you agree with that ish

He makes way too much money to give a **** what a troll says. That said...he also makes way too much money to put up the bricks that he does.

If a surgeon botches surgeries as badly as Russell misses shots...he deserves to be called out, stripped of his/her license.

I don't get paid to put a basketball in a hoop...but if I did, I'd be working harder to make sure I don't embarrass myself like Russ does. If I'm as bad at my job as Russ is at shooting...I'd deserve the criticism and try harder to be better...not clap back like an insecure child.

Making too much money doesn't mean you can't call out someone for being a prick. Doesn't mean blatant disrespect should be acceptable or tolerated.

There's plenty of stats or analysis you can pull up or formulate on your on say that Westbrook can't shoot

So you’d be fine with someone yelling out “Hey Mr Westbrook kind sir, your true shooting percentage is 51% which is well below league average of 56%”

Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it as Westbrick.

Agreed. Skip is a parasite and an idiot, but yeah, Westbrook needs to have a thicker skin and a more honest approach to self-evaluation.

Skip calling him Westbrick is toddler level humor but Russ acting like making a pun out of his last name is somehow a diss to his entire bloodline has my eyes rolling as well. Both guys come out of this looking petty as hell.

No one's asking him to like it.
Just shut up about it because you don't get to tell other people what to call you and you're not really a victim just because someone used a 3rd-grade insult to describe your poor performance on the court.
Don't like it then don't read it. No one's forcing him to even be on Twitter if he doesn't like reading hot takes about himself.

Westbrook needs to honor the #1 rule of the internet: Don't feed the trolls.

Undisputed will 1000% open the show on Monday with this.

This is the first time in my entire life I hear the word "Kobrick"
