Riley probably had ICC captured. He's sitting in one of Riley's cars with a bag over his head right now.

Re: OFFSEASON THREAD, VOL. REALLY HOT
I wonder if the mutual hatefest between Kyrie and Boston would be enough for KD to be adverse to Boston. For whatever reason the dude seems to have some irrational devotion to Kyrie

Smart, Brogdon, KD, Tatum, Williams?
Jaylen but who is the other all star? Smart? Thought the price tag was two…

For the Heat, it's a whale or nothing in my opinion. The worst thing we could do now is to panic and sign mediocre players to bad contracts (overpaying or long-term) - think Uncan Robinson.
These minnows, sardines and shrimps are not going to move the needle enough. The main reason this team has even been close to the Finals (or a Mickey Mouse Bubble Ring) is because Butler has had GOAT level performances. He needs more help. Role players replacing role players (Tucker, Crowder, etc) won't get it done.
But we just spent180 million dollars last offseason to get Butler help.
We got him Lowry and resigned Duncan.

I'm sure Kyrie told him it's hell on flat earth.

That's the first thing that came to my mind when the tweet about Boston trading for him came up.
I'm sure Kyrie told him it's hell on flat earth.
Yup I can't even imagine all the chit Kyrie has talked to KD about Boston and their fans lol

Can't hate on us going ALL IN.
KD and Mitchell are both worthy elite talents, and both are realistic targets.
If we get one - it trumps the all Tucker/Gallo/Brogdon nonsense.
If we miss out, I'll be ok with knowing we tried to go all in.

This is so annoying to see!!! How you sit down and letting your rivals to get way better and you keep sit down doin nothing?!?!
I swear we make so much bad choices, giving Duncan this amount of money, giving Lowry this amount of money, after a history of overpaying scrubs.
We never get those deals like what Boston has pulled. Pat wake the FCK up. NOW

But here’s the problem. We don’t have the assets Brooklyn wants for kd
And utah doesn’t look to be in a rush to move Mitchell
I understand swinging for the fences but we have like 1 % chance of success here

Re: OFFSEASON THREAD, VOL. REALLY HOT
I'd rather swing for the fences too. We've just been burned (no pun intended) too many times. However, if we do miss out, we need to stop overpaying guys. It seems like every offseason we are trying to undo the previous year's contracts.

The elephant in the room is Pat has been washed for years now. The game has clearly passed him by. Would love to see him land another whale but it's truly a players league now and Pat doesn't have nearly the power or control he used to have

When you build through the draft and are hitting above .300, youre setup for success and have many options.
We build through giving up a ton of picks for players (lebron, bosh, dragic, butler) and undrafted free agents that are low skilled and one dimensional. Got lucky with bam.. trade away precious because he wasnt other world in his rookie season..

Re: OFFSEASON THREAD, VOL. REALLY HOT
We just have so much going against us this offseason even aside from the usual whale honeydicking
We don't have any cap flexibility and we're working against getting hard capped. We don't have all our picks nor any expiring contracts to make available for trade. Our only real asset we'd be willing to trade Herro is still on his rookie deal so we'd have to attach salary and all we have available for that is Duncan and Lowry -- both of whom tanked their own value last season and are on overpaid multiple year contracts
Then to top it off, the one trade we might be willing to include Bam in (for KD), we can't even do that because of this obscure DR contract rule trade caveat
EDIT: and I almost forgot, our pool of players to choose from is also limited to guys who can fit into Spo's rigid system and our "culture"
