I don’t know why people are b*tching about the article. He actually makes some really good points. And nowhere did he say “Masai is on the clock.”

As we so so often on this board, any miserable fool can criticize without providing an alternative. Any of the negative Nancy's here could have written this same article.

Saying we lost FVV for “nothing” is just not accurate. Is trading FVV just to say we “got something” but being unable to sign Shroder or McDaniels better for us?

I dont understand this

If we trade Fred at the deadline for a player on a contract we would have that player plus the MLE and BAE still which would be used to sign Schroder and McD

Nope. We would’ve been over the thresholds and wouldn’t have the eligibility to have thise contracts to sign.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Which side am I on? Hmm.

Feschuk is terrible but I'm open to the idea Masai maybe, maybe isn't good for the franchise and he's not putting a competitive product now or in the near future, and isn't building future assets either. So in this case having Feschuk as a negative contrarian maybe isn't so bad.

I remember reading this guy when I was much younger. He came off as a grumpy old man and then I saw him on TV and heard him speak and he looked and sounded like a small Weasel lol. He looked like what you would picture a keyboard warrior typing out of his mom's basement would look like. Looked uncomfortable and stuttered and couldn't get any coherent words out. Definitely comes off as some kid who was picked on by athletes when he was younger.

I would fire Bobby before even thinking of Masai.

The youngish nerdy guys in Toronto are in trouble. Dubus fired, Atkins on the hot seat (or should be), and maybe we need a different guy than Bobby

Reminder

Last 10 years MU WORST year was 41-41 excluding the Florida covid year. Oh, and won a 'Ship.
Previous 12 years, 42-40 was the Raps BEST year.

MU has EARNED rope, time, and patience.

Yep, that team won 50+ games four years in a row (including a 59-win season and ECF showing). This core has yet to crack 50 wins and get past the first round...

I'd give Dan a try if we got rid of Masai and Bobby. He doesn't come off as cocky and he has a good reputation as a scout.

Two things can be true at once:

-Dave Feschuk is a hack
-Doug Smith is a softball reporter

Feschuk is an edge lord. He's paid to draw up interest and be contrarian. Come out with an article 1-2 years ago with this opinion. Now THAT'S edgy. Many of us (including myself) have had concerns for a while now and pre-Kawhi thought Masai made several mistakes.

Not true. We could have traded him to Houston for a FRP for example. Or for a prospect and an expiring.

The only reporter in the city worse than Feschuk is Simmons. Tough call who knows less about the sport they're actually supposed to be talking about.
