This is exactly why most of us wanted Gary to start. It gave the starting lineup shooting where Barnes/Siakam can handle the ball more while letting Schroder go wild with the 2nd unit and also kicking Flynn to the moon.

Just that simple change while reducing Precious's role increased the overall IQ of the team by a million lol.

Players seemed to respond well to the line up shift. Turns out the answer to who, what, how, when, why was right there along.

There are no conclusions to be made if the lineup change. This was against a horrendous team with the worst defense in the league. Idk why some of y’all are even discussing the results of the change

We need to see it against real competition on Friday

Big difference is that McDaniels can guard and rebound for his position. Dick was getting picked on and couldn't do anything positively on the court. He will need to start becoming a lights out shooter to justify him being on the court.

And yes, I've been on the Porter train from the start simply because he's high I'D while this team is full of idiots lol. If his shooting comes around then it'd be a game changer for us.

I'm starting to get higher expectations where the 20 points on 16 shots, 12 rebounds, 8 assists doesn't really look all that impressive from Barnes.

Actually I thought Achiuwa did some good things when he had to come in for Jak's foul trouble. But unfortunately you always have the dumb things with the good things

Because we have struggled to beat teams like Washington all year so seeing this on the road was refreshing. No one's expecting us to become championship contenders here but it's a step up from looking outright pathetic during this recent stretch.

And agreed, I don't expect to win the Celtics game but let's see what type of fight we put up against them. Better not see us crying that they're beating the living pulp outta us again lol.

Yup... his defense in the 3rd quarter was ELITE. When he just sticks to his role, he's actually good but he's too stupid/selfish to do that.

Yep. Before people start crapping on the win/new starting lineup because it came against the Wizards, the way we played tonight is something we should be doing most nights. I'm not saying we're going to score 130+ and shoot almost 60% from the field while holding the opponent to ~100 points, but some of this team's biggest issues (outside shooting, taking the ball out of Scottie's and Siakam's hands too much, unbalanced lineups/bad rotations, etc.) can be somewhat solved by the simple starting lineup change that Darko finally made tonight. The consistent defensive effort is something we need to see more of as well. Our defence was rough to start the game (aided by some brutal officiating) as well as most of the 3rd, but overall this was one of our best defensive efforts since mid-November. I'm interested to see how we'll come out on Friday and if Darko will stick with this lineup now. It seems obvious he should, but who knows.

On another note, yet another dominant game from Scottie. I wish we didn't extend the lead quite so much though because I was 2 Scottie points away from a big payout.

Never took you as a bettor pingpong. Wish you woulda got those 2 pts.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

Forget reducing achiuwa role, just bench him permanently. And then I’ll be happy.
