His shooting might be his 3rd or 4th most valuable attribute.

Can't believe Scheier lasted all the way to #30.

So over 5 seasons he averaged better than 400 points per year, 60 3pters, 200 rebounds, and 100 assists.

Roughly how many games are there per season?

He started every game since his sophmore season. (23-35-37-35) Freshman year he played in 32 and started in 3.

So on a per game basis, those numbers are competent but not huge.

I think I just read that in his final year he averaged 18-9-6.

Does anyone else see a Jaquez / Scheierman comp?

Can he defend at the NBA level? He looks too frail for that. Good offensive instincts though.
There are other players I would have preferred.

Baylor isn't replacing Hauser... he is replacing Svi.

Baylor was a star HS quarterback in Nebraska. 59 touchdown as a senior! He is probably tougher than we think.

Would be the steal of the draft if he can defend at the NBA level.

He's not at all frail, he's the opposite. See my earlier post in this thread that he is a 6'7" wing who led the entire NCAA this century in career total defensive rebounds.

Every highlight clip is him shooting off the dribble or on a fadeaway. Hopefully he's got some off-ball skills.

This is "steal of the draft" in the making.

It really helps that the Celtic system is a great fit for his game.

I don’t think he can defend but it is because he is too slow not too frail. He is big for SG at 6-7 205 lbs and got 9 rebs per game so he likes to mix it up.

I wonder who ends up as the better NBA shooter - him or the Laker pick Knecht? Could it be the next chapter in the Zizic vs Zubac, Tatum vs Kuzma debates which never really close anyway.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

It's a shooters league and the Celtics got the best shooter left on the board. Showed enough juice off the dribble and passing the ball that he can also attack a closeout competently. Perfect player for Mazzulla ball. Enough size that he should hold up defensively once he gets used to the NBA speed. No idea how he lasted this long on the board. A+ pick.

Shot over 40% from three coming off screens (https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/page/NBADraft24-40308105/nba-draft-2024-best-players-20-different-skills-shooting-offense-defense-clutch). Shot nearly 50% from the corners (https://edemirnba.substack.com/p/baylor-scheierman-scouting-report). Quick passer too. Just an elite floor spacer.
