Huh? Explain. Some might say people who believe in religion don't live in reality at all.

I would say that. The biggest hoax in human history are the fact people made up a being of higher power, whether it be Jesus, Muhammad, Apollo, etc to keep people in line or rule lands with an iron fist, while getting rich off the blood of innocent people though out history. Religion is the true root of evil in the world. The majority of wars have been fought and actions of horror have been made because of some idiots religious believes, whether they be Christian, Muslim, etc.

I've read all of those already. Where does it define 'sexual immorality' as premarital sex.

One verse refers to having sex with a virgin and bride-price. The next verse refers to a girl having sex while still in her father's house.

What if you have sex with a woman that lives on her own? What if you have sex with a girl that isn't a virgin that still lives with her father?

On top of that it says a girl should be stoned to death if found not to be a virgin while living with her father. Why not obey that? That is in the bible.

Old Testament Laws are the same as New Testament. Jesus Christ died on the cross for all sins...after that, things changed.

What exactly are you looking for? The words Pre-Marital Sex aren't in the Bible.

However, if you study enough, you will come to realize that pre-marital sex falls under the sexual immorality references in the Bible.

I'm looking for a verse that says sex before marriage is defined as sexual immorality or a verse that says sex before marriage in any case is a sin. Not just if a man has sex with a virgin who lives with her father then he has to marry her. That doesn't cover all premarital sex. It definitely doesn't cover Dwight's scenario.

Yessir. Too bad most of these religious nuts are too brainwashed to understand that.

I enjoy these, funny message board quotes from christians.

my favorite:
One of the most basic laws in the universe is the Second Law of Thermodynamics. This states that as time goes by, entropy in an environment will increase. Evolution argues differently against a law that is accepted EVERYWHERE BY EVERYONE. Evolution says that we started out simple, and over time became more complex. That just isn't possible: UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy. If there were such a source, scientists would certainly know about it. :D

Don't know how I missed your post. I looked up that verse in KJV instead of whatever version it was posted in on that page and it says fornication (or immorality). That is the kind of verse I am looking for. I concede, apologizing to the other guy who provided that verse originally.

edit: By "that page" I meant the page with all of the verses on it posted earlier.

A little mutual respect goes a long way in conversations like this.

A condescending tone also goes a long way, but not in a way that fosters (not the beer) open communication.

Here is the verse for Adultery -

Jesus says: "You have heard that it was said, "you shall not commit adultery". But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Mt.5:27-28).

Hence sex outside of marriage is adultery because you are lusting..

So everyone's already had premarital sex just by lusting? Geez. I saw my first Playboy at like 6-7 years old. I guess lost my virginity without even getting to enjoy it.

I am quite curious as to what your impressions on the actual teachings of Christianity are. I would wholeheartedly agree with you that what the church has become is infested with sin. Man took wonderful ethical teachings and went on a power trip and so now you get what your impression of religion is. Yes, the human institution of religion is flawed. But the original teachings are wonderful and universal.

Let me put it this way. On this site, there are real, genuine fans, who wish the other team good luck and are quite classy. On the other hand, there are always trolls who come into other teams' game threads simply to talk trash about how much better their team is. Everyone hates trolls. Well, trolls exist in other walks of life. It is simply differences in upbringing, personality, influence, etc. Unfortunately, real fans get overshadowed by the obnoxious ones. Apply that to Christianity, and, for that matter, other religions as well. I am here because I enjoy watching the Orlando Magic and I have become a huge fan of the team, players, and organization. Will I try and get other people to watch the Magic? Sure. Am I going to write them off as lesser human beings because they are, say, Heat fans? No.

Who gives a **** what some Christian group thinks? It's his personal life, and while it may be a little sad to see someone compromise their beliefs, regardless of what they are, they are still his personal beliefs, and should be of no concern to some third party group.

Since you are so sure it is a hoax, what proof do you have of that?

What proof do you have it isn't? You sound almost as ignorant as my father who basically believes in god because he claims "why take a chance?". :noway: He is that freaking brainwashed to the point he is scared not to worship an invisible being because he thinks he won't get into a magical place called heaven.

Also just about every god ever thought up are very similar in in their traits. Most were thought us the Sun, Moon, stars, etc and as man evolved were turned into something more to scare people into following like sheep for if they didn't would be casted into a dark place (hell) when they died.

Gods were made up to make people believe that they aren't alone in this little, itty, bitty world and make them believe that there is something after life, to keep them in line or do horrible things while they are living. If you don't believe me, pick up a history book and look at all of the horrible things that have been done in the past in the name of a god or church.

Don't get me wrong. Worship what you want, but I myself won't be conforming to the flock any time soon.

martin Luther once said that we all have "gods". Be they Jesus, Allah, or something more worldly, such as money. So whether you like it or not, you are not without religion. Your "god" does control what you do (ie having a job to make money, spending wisely, etc). You are also trying to avoid a "bad place" (bankruptcy or prison). Just something to consider.

I don't worship money either, which is probably the 2nd most evil thing in the world. Also I don't need a book to tell me what is right and wrong. It is called common sense.

You are the one who made the claim that it is a big hoax. Are you just spouting off or do you have proof that it is a hoax?

Do I believe in a Savior who came to this earth, born of a virgin, died on the cross for my sins and rose the third day? You bet. Do I believe that he is coming back one day? Sure do. Do I have scientific proof of any of this? No. This is just MY faith and what I believe.

So if you are calling what I believe a BIG HOAX, I would like you to provide some information that backs up your comments. If you are just saying that you personally believe it is a big hoax but you don't really know for sure...then I'll accept that.
