Both teams are only there because another team's GM was so inept and/or corrupt that they committed to a one-sided trade, unfairly benefiting both Boston and LA.

Not really......

Memphis got rid of dead weight for cap space & picks and Lakers picked up AT BEST a borderline All-Star. Seriously, Gasol isn't that good.

Boston had to give away a 20&10 player to get KG, as well as the useful Ryan Gomes.

That being said, I could never support a team that tanked the previous season.

Celtics! While I despise both teams, the Celts have a little less hate as they haven't really done anything bad to my Blazers. The Lakers on the other hand had that crushing 2000 WCF battle with my Blazers costing us our attempt at glory! I applaud the Lakers for demolishing the Spurs, but now that their job is done I am ready for the same to happen to them :)!

I think Pau Gasol is that good, i don't know if an all-star, but don't are the Lakers about 22-7 with him, or better, in the last regular season games? he definitely was key to the lakers to get the first spot, don't care if they were firsts with Bynum in January, also the Blazers were in the top6 seeds.

Detest them both...

Post#66 » by writerman » Sat May 31, 2008 12:40 pm

wish they could both lose and get humiliated in the process...

KG-Pierce-Allen = Bird-McHale-Parish? (or any of Russell's great Celtic teams, for that matter)

Kobe-Odom-Gasol = Kareem-Magic-Worthy or Wilt-West-Baylor?

Anyone who thinks this is anything like the great matchups of the past is delusional. Neither of these teams is fit to be ballboys to one of those...

I think it shows how bad Kwame was. The Lakers were tired of playing 4 on 5 on offense.....

I can't wait for NBA Finals ads in which Perkins and Pierce are compared to Russell and Bird, and Fisher and Gasol to Magic and Kareem :D :D :D

Come down OG triple OG internet Gangster.............

Nobodys saying our team is all about one player, and were not worried about the Cs.

Both teams are stacked with talent and this is going to be a great series, no need for you to get all upset about it.

Take it easy, and best of luck to both teams.

Oh ya ..........One more thing...........

Go LAKERS

I have hated both teams since the 80s. But, I am a big KG fan, so I guess I will have to support the Celtics.

I do agree, those will be hilarious.

as kobe said yesterday, "let me be me"
basically, can't we let these guys be who they are. the don't have to be west, russell, bird magic, etc...

I find myself not rooting for a "Team" but rather players, since I want Garnett and Pierce to get one ring in their lifetime I went with the Celtics. The Lakers have a window now for about six-seven more years realistically speaking. The Celtics have two or three.

While as a Knick fan I would love to see Boston fail capturing yet another title, I just want KG to get one.

Time for KG to get his ring (i don't care about Pierce, Allen or the Celtics)
