Also, I wouldn't take that as 100% fact.
Just something that my friend who has trained for boxing and has done weight lifting has told me multiple times... A bunch of websites I have seen back him up.
Sounds like the best times to lift or workout are lunch time or before dinner.

Yeah, I get something in my stomach immediately. I try to make breakfast my second biggest meal of the day, lunch being first and then dinner the smallest if possible... With some snacks inbetween.
I try to drop a fruit smoothie in the morning or a couple pieces of fruit... Maybe a fiber one bar or something like that with a multi-vitamin.

Yeah I saw a documentary about sumos and what they eat, it was incredible the amount of **** they eat. Especially since they just use chopsticks lol.
I've been replacing two meals a day with protein shakes and eating a lot more snacks. In the past I'd just have three big meals and nothing inbetween. Seems to be working, dropped 10lbs in 2 weeks without doing any exercise whatsoever. Also not really hungry at all during the day.

I work out at around 9:00pm. Encourages me not to eat a big/late dinner that would be sitting in my gut while I'm trying to run.

i don't understand people that work out in the morning. it's all i can do just to remember how to brush my teeth and not fall asleep in the shower.
Yeah I'm the same. I was thinking if I worked out yesterday morning I'd be able to go again later tonight. I'm impatient with these programs and I don't think my body is being particularly stressed by the program yet.

Today was my longest amount of time on the bike yet. Rode ten miles at dawn before work, nine over lunch, another ten with a wicked set of hills after work. It's fun and I look forward to it, but my body is pretty pissed at me. Tomorrow is gonna be a welcome day off.

Misread my timer while doing tonight's 5K and ran a very angry final kick. Beat my personal best by 15 seconds (24.35).
Weights tomorrow, off day on Sunday. Hoping to get near 24:00 next week.

I know a lot of people here will disagree, but I would avoid protein shakes. Protein shakes to me are just nasty if you really think about it. You should always eat food instead. Protein powder is not real food. It is something that is made, so it is hard for the body to digest. That's why there's always minor side effects such as acne, excessive gas, etc.

Did day two tonight and it was much easier than day one done in the morning. Got 45 on the final set (needed to get 36) My initial guess that I'd get through to week 5 comfortably looks about right.

Not true bro. Check out "intermittent fasting" or leangains.com
There's an entire dieting style for people who eat only in an 8 hour window, usually at night. And "fast" during the day until that window. Digestion is a really slow process, this is why they can eat for only 8 hours and still have energy the next day without eating food. The other thing is, unless you're doing some intense exercising, your body is more likely to target fat stores than it is muscle fibers during this period(When your heart rate is at a low enough rate, ie when you're not exercising, you burn 100% fat).
I would agree that you're better off getting at least something in your system before working out in the morning. Unless you're at a higher body fat rate, you might still get away with burning mostly fat as long as the exercise isn't too long and too intense.

I love this thread. Keeps me motivated.
Anyone want to make the next 2 pages for goals til July 1st? Then we can check back in every few weeks?
Current Weight: 157
Goal Weight: 150 (Lose prob 10-15 pounds of fat and gain some muscle)
Current Pushups Max: 38
Goal Pushups Max: 55
Current 4 Mile Run: 33 min
Goal 4 Mile Run: 27 min
Current Pull-ups Max: 6

Also, I just signed up for this:

I saw that Tough Mudder advertised on Facebook. It looked/seemed fun, but it also seems too freelanced. It would still be fun to try though

I'm going to keep posting a pic on every "Weigh-in Wednesday". Last week I was 207.6. I hope to be at least 200 by June 1st, 190 by July 1st. No clue about workout goals, but I would like to "Storm the Bastille" in under 20 minutes.
I'm really unsure about what my end goals should be. I'm 6' with a wide frame. The lightest I remember being in high school was 180. I was athletic, but never really "cut".
