Like, we won 22 games with healthy KP, 7 games after he went down (and really, the last one was against the Cavs end of bench guys, so I don't know how we're supposed to lose that one)

We won more games with KP than the Suns won all year, and the same amount as the Grizzlies

KP is literally the only reason we don't have a top 3 pick right now

Pretty much. It's weird to see this being disputed. it really don't any science. When KP went down the Knicks became a bottom 3 team. No one on the roster could stop that.

Not to mention EVERYONE who tanked ahead of us dropped a spot for the second year in a row!

I believe if you take our winning percentage after KP went down and extrapolate it over 82 games, we were an 18 win team

So, we go from a clear worst record in the NBA to a mid 30s win team just by having KP

The only argument I've seen that has merit is that KP was playing with a lot of vets to start. And that's true, but ultimately I don't think it made that big of a difference if it was the vets or the younger players we had on our roster for most of the wins

The tank was going to go to **** the moment we signed Tim. I was not holding my breath for the worst record in the league at that point.

He was going to move the needle just enough for the team to play itself out of a top 5.

I'll give Jack alot of credit because I think he stabilized the lineup. I refuse to believe Kanter and Lee won any games for us just by being on the court and I doubt there is any real metric to state they did.

Before Durant pussied his way to GS they built a powerhouse without having any pics in the Top 5. You have to draft well. Spurs had Duncan but they filled out by drafting well with later pics. Ginobli, Parker, Leonard all late pics. And If we lost a few more games in 15 we would have had Okafor instead of KP. so yes it would be nice having earlier pics but there isnt any guarantees there either. all you can do is homework and hope it works out. I dont know I trust our FO with 1-5 anymore than I do at 9. but this is a deep draft so im hopeful. all i know is getting all the coaches and all the players, who are trying to prove themselves, to lose on purpose cant be a real thing. so why continue to beat that dead horse ?

Some guys learn Eurosteps, post-moves etc, while with Doncic, I get the feeling he just comes up with stuff on the spot. That's **** talent. There are very few guys like him where everytime you watch him you know he's going to do something amazing and put the opposing team into the state of complete despair.

you're on this mission to prove it doesn't matter where you pick when you know it's not true. there's mistakes everywhere. but as i explained multiple times now, the odds are better higher. between 1 and 9 the chance of getting someone special drops significantly. there's no arguing this.

Ok but we had already won 22 games when KP went down. We won only 7 games the rest of the season. We’re at where we’re at and we’re going to get a very good player at 9, assuming we select the right player.

What did you want us to do without causing Silver to crawl up our asses?

they were supposed to plan to tank the summer before. then they signed timmy and a bunch of veterans and kept lee/koq etc. they should be planning for it this summer. especially with kp out. we'll see what happens.

Before the 76rs were a playoff contender they tanked there azz off and wound up with ben/Embiid two young stars going forward.

it works both ways imo but lets not pretend being in the top 3 the chances in obtaining a star isnt greater. If we could swap picks and be in the top 3 right now would you pass on the opportunity?

Getting a high pick is just the first step

Can you imagine how much better they'd be if instead of Noel, Okafor, and Fultz they ended up with McCollum, KP, and Tatum?

Obviously, the talent is easier to get at the top. But you have to know how to spot it and develop it too

i don't really think they will either. they think they're being noble by not doing so. there's people here who buy into that too.
