I haven't been a fan of his game all season but it's time to accept that he's our guy and we have to hope he can develop and overcome his current weaknesses.

If I were the Knicks FO, I'd do some serious due diligence on Garland. If someone in this draft has that Lilliard feel, it's Garland.

Barrett...eh, he's probably more D-Lo Russell? Russell and Lilliard are both good players, but I'm sure I know which one I'd prefer...

i might like garlnd better but, rj is built nothing like russell though

I see you ignored the video of the pundits anointing the Knicks as having the best and most suitable package for AD. So I guess you still don't agree?

I want to keep the pick as well and as I posted in another thread... you could realistically have this:
Ki/DSJ
RJ/Zo/DOTS
DJ/MR
KD/Frank
Taj?/Knox

Point being that's a deep team that's balanced with veteran leadership along with youth... Between the trio of Mitch/Knox/Barrett - I just think they're going to be really good for years.

Player comps so far:

Jalen Rose
Danny Granger
Lamar Odom
Demarr Derozen

Doing my homework on this kid, if he is developed properly and our staff can maximize on his potential, which is a legitimate expectation, we have a legitimate 3rd option on a championship team...

Kyrie/Kemba
RJ Barret
Kevin Knox
Durant
Mitch Robinson

That’s starting to look like a top 4 team in the East as soon as next season

i saw the jump video but he included mitch too and you didn't. but i still don't think the knicks are giving away everything and i'm not sure they should. the lakers will so their package will be better. they also were taking solomon hill at the deadline who we aint gonna take. i don't even want to be in this bidding war to be honest. i don't know that we need anthony davis that badly.

bleacher report suggest this
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2836172-updated-trade-packages-landing-spots-for-anthony-davis-after-2019-nba-lottery#slide3

New Orleans Pelicans Receive: Damyean Dotson, Kevin Knox, Frank Ntilikina, Dennis Smith Jr., No. 3 pick (drafted by Knicks), 2020 first-round pick, 2021 first-round pick (via Dallas)

that seems like the most the knicks should do and it's still a lot

Not the worst trade I've seen. You keep Mitch and the 2020 first rounder is probably outside the lottery next season. Barrett and 2021 Dallas pick hurts to give up, but it's AD. I'd do that deal.

I saw your post about KD/KI being the best duo. And just going the depth route with the kids and mixing in some grizzled vets. I wouldn't balk at that. But the question is, will KD? We know most of these stars don't want to wait for no kids to mature. KD really is the one who will decide if we trade for AD or not.

Clarke will probably be one of the best 3 players to come out of this draft. And he's ready to contribute now, not in 3 years.

Would be a good frontcourt partner alongside either Ayton or KAT.

I'd take that deal and run yo. We keep Mitch and still form a Big 3. Big 3 + Mitch is really a Big 4. Then the ring chasers will flesh out the rest of the roster.

Despite my outright disdain for Reddish's mentality, if Perry took him at #3 I wouldn't even question it. That's how much trust & respect I have for Perry.

Would have even more respect under this scenario if he trades down to get Cam plus acquires more assets in the process.

Those first round picks better be lottery-protected.

i'd have to say yes too even though i'm not sure about all of this. i still don't think that beats the best lakers offer. it somewhat depends on how bad people expect the mavs to be.

Does that mean you still have faith in Kevin Knox?

I don't think I can deal with two low-motor prospects in a row. I respect the hell out of Perry well, but it doesn't seem like he made the right pick last year. Could be wrong though, hopefully Knox is in the gym as we speak. Doubt it though.

That BR trade scenario doesn't include Mitch and only one of our own 1sts and not both of Dallas 1sts? That actually would be fair for both sides.
Spoiler:
I still want to rebuild though.

I can see Perry doing that deal. It wouldnt cripple the team future-wise, and instantly makes them a contender in the present.

I don't get y people like Cam. He's even worse than Knox when he was in college and I was not a Knox fan.

To me picking Cam at 3 is worse than picking Daniel Jones at 6.

Yeah, I'm still rocking with Knox. He came on late and showed me enough flashes. I think Knox had a good rookie year for the 2nd youngest player in the league. He really started going to the hole with more gusto and finishing better late. I think it's only a matter of time before he improves his efficiency.

Cam is very toolsy and has great measurements. I was extremely disappointed with his mental approach but if Perry rocked with him then that would mean he killed it in the workout and they think they can alter his mental approach.

But I can't front yo, I couldn't stomach keeping all three of Knox, Cam, and Frank. Frank would have to gfto. That's too many meek dudes in one young core.

But that's why I am coming around slowly on RJ. Dude has balls. That's one thing no one can deny. And he has a great frame and still got room to grow. His passing is great for a wing too. If Frank wasn't such a punk then a Frank/RJ backcourt could work. But...
