But if it's RJ, I'd probably pass. Just makes us too dependent on AD's health that way AND I think if we are going to "make some noise", RJ is actually THE extra guy who I think would help us to be at the level of the top teams in the East/possibly be the swing piece that may help us actually potentially get out of the East. If it's IQ, I think he's too inconsistent and too easy to target defensively, that it come to bite us in the ass (no Diddy) against the best teams in the Conference.

Ohhh...and I think we need to fight to stay in THIS particular draft considering the glut of talent there is a great chance to grab a steal even in the 20s. If we're able to add some sort of steal IE/ a taller, more talented PG as this particular draft is loaded with -- suddenly we could be a REAL threat, that STILL has good assets to make a move to put us over the top if necessary.

Any FRP for a guy who's on the edge of retirement is an overpay. This is one of the most injury-prone players in the league, and he's 33.

This only makes sense if we consider IQ, Yak, Gradey, and Ochai to be negative assets so the FRP is being attached as the only actual value in the trade. But then the question is, why are we giving up value for AD?

Not really interested. I guess if you’re only dumping Quickley and Poetl I could see it.

Why not?

Dallas wants expirings, young players, and draft capital

Porzingis, Kennard, Risacher, 2026 1st (not pelicans)

I think Atlanta gets him and on their end they just cleared $35m off the books for next season

This deal makes a lot of sense for both teams. Dallas can sell the fanbase on Risacher-Flagg duo. Can even see it without the pick.

Injury-prone or not, I would expect a championship with a lineup including AD, BI, Scottie and RJ

Not sure if you seriously think CMB can be better than AD who is like a 24/10 guy with elite protection when he plays by next year or the year after. Dude is still smoking layups when semi contested

You need size against the Embiids and Jokics of the world. CMB has been performing well against small ball line-ups and last night was no different. If it was Kalkbrenner starting instead of Diabate...he might not have had the same impact on the boards.

I think we're out of the AD talks now after the Hawks traded Trae Young.

Atlanta pretty much has everything Dallas wants (expirings, prospect, picks) and Rich Paul is already pushing AD to ATL. That's likely a wrap.

So who's left.. we got Sabonis, Ja Morant, and LaMelo Ball all as big names rumoured to be moved this year.

Can't say I'm excited about any of those 3. AD was the only legit top 15 player, legit impact player on both ends. The rest of the guys I'm not convinced actually help winning.

Hope the Trae Young trade allows Atlanta to acquire AD so the Raptors don't take on the high risk, higher salary gamble. If the raptors could get involved to acquire a quality C (Lively/Gafford) that would be great.

Yeah, it is way more likely he goes to the Hawks now.

There are reports this morning that the Hawks are still after AD.

I think you're right. He's likely ATL bound at this point. There was a report that DAL reached out about Kuminga earlier, so maybe they are a dark horse team.

I would throw Garland in that potential mix if CLE continues to look underwhelming.

I believe Bobby only got a 2 year contract, so he may only take low risk choices for trading. If he can make a trade to net another backup big and dodge the tax, then that may be good enough considering it's likely we'll make the playoffs.

cmb prime is like 4-5 years from now. AD can definitely be a good mentor to him.

i'd take the risk on AD cuz he actually plays both sides of the game. we only need him to fill the game for the next 3 years.

He's replacing Poeltl, who plays even less games than AD.

Why, both are playable. Just have patience, Yak may recover.

Read a report that Yak looking like he's recovering nicely played a large factor in the decision to release Bamba - along with the tax implications that come along with keeping him.

As far as AD, yes we would be a threat to come out of the East this season with a rejuvinated Davis, but then again Shead IMO is not a starting quality pg yet and AD may also be ready to fall off a cliff anytime after this season.

Happy to stay the course and see what happens for now.

He does?

Yak->AD
21->18
57->51
50->76 *
72->56
68->40
69->36
66->62
77->56
82->75

So 9 years and AD has played more games 1 year. So...guess you are wrong.
