Danny definitely was cited as being a good influence in the locker room. I was allured because of his rep for being clutch in the post seasons. If he hadn’t gone down, I think he would have been just enough in one of those games to get us past Atlanta. If we had gotten past Atlanta without him, he was scheduled to come back in time for the Bucks. Typical Sixer luck!

Issue is, Mattise has been unable to increase his 3 point %. He was basically the same guy as a shoter than his first year at identical volume.

His FT% is just bad too, which is indicative of him just not having good mechanics

That's kind of worrysome.

He's going to easily replace Danny Green. The only reason people would want more of Green over Thybulle is because he showed flashes of scoring 20+ in a game and either winning it or getting close to winning it. Lost in that argument is that we have to rely on a 3&D guard to generate offense because our team is so devoid of creators.

Thybulle has length and finishing ability to figure out a way to be a threat in the half court offense, likely as a screener. If the shot gets more consistent, then we have the best role player in the NBA.

We don't need him to do *anything* on offense except spam 3's ala Robert Covington at ~ 37%.

If he can give us that, he's the most valuable 3&D role player in the league.

Exactly. People were allured by Green playing random hero ball and thought that he was a "must keep" asset. He's a fine player, but I don't want him putting the ball on the court beyond three or four dribbles.

Nobody wants Green dribbling or playing hero ball: he’s valuable because he’s elite at playing off the ball: repositioning into open space as the defense adjusts, and cutting to get free for threes. That’s the difference between him and Thybulle standing in a corner. I’m fine with Matisse getting his starting spot because he’s got to learn some time, but let’s not pretend we’re not going to lose something significant. Green has been a winning player everywhere he’s been, both by eye test and results.

Boomers play the USA in about 25 mins. Thybulle is going to be crucial. Look for an early sub to get him off the bench and onto KD.

He played great D on KD, KD destroyed Aus when Thybulle wasn't guarding him. I hope we don't trade him, he's only going to get better.

Matisse was amazing. Thybulle finishes with twice as many steals as anyone else at the olympics.

He was also a plus 30 in the medal game highest on the team.
In my eyes he’s near untradeable.
Fantastic Olympic showing for him . Plus 13.8.
Only behind Durant. Tatum and Mills.

Looks like he put up 11/5/4 in the bronze game, with 3 steals and 5/6 from the field. Good to know that Tisse can Tisse at any level.

Thybulle was at the next level at the Olympics.
Defence just amazing.

One preseason game and some are ready to dump him

If that game is used as the basis for this season’s roster then we need about 10 new players

1 preseason game?

More like:

4 years in college with no development

Followed by:

2 years in the NBA with no development

And the first taste for the upcoming year three seems like more of the same.

I'd be happy trading him if we could get a good return. No interest in trading him for the sake of it.

That isn’t true at all. Every human as a skill threshold it’s just limitations happens. Without deep learning it can’t change. We are very habitual

Working hard doesn’t equal getting better it just means working hard, and if it’s aimlessly then progression can’t be had.

Matisse has a fundamental flaw in his shooting motion. If he doesn’t even know it’s there it’ll be inconsistent for his whole career which it has been.

I think Matisse could take a leaf out of Joe’s book on learning. Whatever happens to Joe I hope he takes up a coaching role.

Japanese word is “shokunin.” I can’t for wait Joe this season moreso than any other young player on this list.

That’s why A.I annihilates any human on learning and games being broken. Chess players now learn from A.I and AI learns from vs other A.I systems instead of gathering info from past players it’s pretty wild.

They start of differently and go backwards and forwards and max out every level of learning curve possible. It’s extremely interesting once you watch it unfold.

Studies have been done on people individual learning curves and it’s actually similar but the results are poles apart. Studies was done on newcomers learning new musical instruments that didn’t have a musical background. Astounding results too. Found consistent patterns of newcomers with seemingly no idea how to play play with perfect pitch and tone even for a fraction of a time, they also played horribly but that isn’t surprising they just picked it up.

All settled on a learning tier and faced problems in improving because all fell into normal habitual states.

Turns out we are way more conventional (habits) than computer learning systems.

The programs used are just far superior on learning and development.
