Mattise has been playing non stop basketball. Do something every day of your life and eventually you will improve at it. He'll never be Reggie Miller, but I have faith that his shot will improve.
That isn’t true at all. Every human as a skill threshold it’s just limitations happens. Without deep learning it can’t change. We are very habitual
Working hard doesn’t equal getting better it just means working hard, and if it’s aimlessly then progression can’t be had.
Matisse has a fundamental flaw in his shooting motion. If he doesn’t even know it there it’ll be inconsistent for his whole career which it has been.
Yep
Practice doesn’t make perfect
Perfect practice does
That’s why A.I annihilates any human on learning and games being broken. Chess players now learn from A.I and AI learns from vs other A.I systems instead of gathering info from past players it’s pretty wild.
They start of differently and go backwards and forwards and max out every level of learning curve possible. It’s extremely interesting once you watch it unfold.
Studies have been done on people individual learning curves and it’s actually similar but the results are poles apart. Studies was done on newcomers learning new musical instruments that didn’t have a musical background. Astounding results too. Found consistent patterns of newcomers with seemingly no idea how to play play with perfect pitch and tone even for a fraction of a time, they also played horribly but that isn’t surprising they just picked it up.
All settled on a learning tier and faced problems in improving because all fell into normal habitual states.
Turns out we are way more conventional (habits) than computer learning systems.
The programs used are just far superior on learning and development.
