It’s wild how people on the left see people all day on the right grifting and people on the right see people on the left doing the same thing. Not sure we will ever come together as a society unless there’s more sources of no sided journalism - but it doesn’t pay the bills to be middle of the road.

I don't really like with or mess with most democrats as a whole, but this kind of grifting is only happening on one side unless there's news I'm not aware of. Real journalism is definitely disadvantaged in our current climate and age. I think NPR/PBS gets as close to it as we've seen, on calling Dems and Pubs on their BS and reporting news, but they're not perfect either (Not that we should strive for perfect, just honest, consistent and not bought)

Someone will have to eventually explain how it's always "both sides are just as bad as the other" until it's time to actually prove that the left is doing the same shameless grifting/stealing, the same targeting of marginalized groups, the same targeting of the poor/working class, the same desecrating of the constitution, etc. as the right.

Suddenly its "whats the point" and "nevermind, I don't want to talk about it". The dishonesty actually makes it impossible to ever come to a middle ground as fellow citizens.

Journalists have overall translated terribly to social media era because there is relentless pressure put on them from online activists. They are demoralized and only want people to click on their articles and like them so the easiest thing to do is just to pander relentlessly.

The left caused billions of dollars of damage during the George Floyd riots and attempted to secede from the union in Seattle. The left heroes right now are a human trafficker (Kilmar Garcia) and Luigi Mangioni (killed the United healthcare CEO). There is also all those attacks on Tesla owners and riots in LA that even my buddy in LA said gang members were coming out and saying get the **** out of here to the “protesters”. I could go on and on about the direct violence coming from the left. It needs to be condemned and it needs to be stopped. With that said, there’s an emerging radicalization on the right as well. Right now it’s just mostly grumblings on social media, but there are individuals planting the seed for political violence as well. This also needs to be recognized and condemned.

Former NPR editor Uri Berliner last year outlined what he described as widespread liberal groupthink inside the outlet and was suspended for it. NPR used to try to be middle of the road, but their standards for journalism are no better than non-government funded news agencies.

I haven't seen them make anything that would make me question their journalism, but I don't doubt groupthink between like-minded journalist is possible

So a leftist kills a fellow Democrat for voting against healthcare benefits for illegal immigrants? Is that what just happened?

This Israel stuff is beyond comprehension. Don’t like to get involved in political discussions on here however this is such a clear overreach of power on Israel’s part that it must be mentioned. As much as they’d like to think they own the USA, they absolutely don’t and hopefully Trump isn’t dumb (isn’t a puppet) enough to drag us all to hell

Yup

Except it's not.

https://www.cnn.com/2025/06/14/us/minnesota-shootings-manhunt-vance-boelter-invs

Vance Boelter was also an outspoken evangelical Christian who traveled to Africa to tell his faith story and, in at least one sermon, pointedly questioned American morals on sexual orientation, according to videos and social media posts reviewed by CNN.

Boelter was a conservative who was strongly against abortion rights, a longtime friend told CNN on Saturday. But Boelter never mentioned any particular anger with the lawmakers who were shot, said David Carlson.

“It wasn’t the thing that defined him,” he said of his religious and political beliefs.

Carlson added, “He wasn’t a hateful person. But he needed help.”

Now, a massive manhunt is ongoing to catch Boelter, 57, who authorities say is a suspect in killing one lawmaker and her husband and wounding another and his wife, leaving behind an apparent hit list with dozens of names in his car after exchanging fire with police outside the home of one victim and fleeing the scene. Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat, said the attack “appears to be a politically motivated assassination.”

“There’s people especially in America, they don’t know what sex they are, they don’t know their sexual orientation, they’re confused. The enemy has gotten so far into their mind and their soul,” he said in a sermon at a Pentecostal church in the eastern DRC.

This would not sound like a liberal to anyone with sense. But all that needs to happen is for Fox News to tell hateful people lies that they want to hear, and they'll believe it. Against all logic.

THIS is why discourse is never truly had. Because one side wants to just lie, use those lies to harm others, and have no one question it.

And before another lie drops, here are 2 more sources that aren't a conservative brainwashing entertainment platform disguised as a news network. They all highlight his conservative beliefs, who he voted for (Trump) and his targeting of only Democratic politicians and those aligned with "liberal" beliefs:

Being skeptical of most news outlets but believing and taking Fox as news... I'd fact check, twice, anything that comes from there, if you're compelled to read anything from there.

Conflating 'the left' with random bad actors are bad faith takes just to paint 'the left' as one monolithic culture and these random folks as actual political leaders. I don't think any serious ppl believe either of those things

I think the general public is beyond blanket justification for them to bomb all of their neighbors, AIPAC has funded much of congress, on both sides of the aisles, though, so common sense might take some time or a few more atrocities to find

While most politicians are greedy, soulless bastards it might hit differently when they realize Americans blood will be directly on their hands no matter how much their getting paid off

We're already intercepting missiles for Israel, and it looks like we're sending air refueling tankers over to help them continue to reach their targets because they have limited refueling capability of their own.

I get that I’m referring to attempting to get our soldiers involved in battle. There’s not a single member of the USA that should die fighting another country’s war for them. ESPECIALLY a country like Israel that has committed way bigger atrocities than ultra condemned nation of Russia

Meanwhile CNN is quick to blame Trump for the Minnesota Speaker shooting when FOX NEWS warned Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz about his rhetoric and the shooter reportedly used to work under Waltz. Don’t get me wrong, Fox News definitely has a bias, but legacy media is out of touch. One example: how could none of the major media outlets including PBS and NPR miss the major story that Biden was cognitively incapable of being president until Trump torched him in the debate? And that’s just one story of the numerous missed.

But okay, you all do you. Just pointing out the bs on both sides here cuz there is a growing amount of fringe (and often foreign funded) elements that want us divided and hating eachother.
