Anyone thinking we weren't targeting Maluach from the jump was just being delusional because he's not their preference for w/e reason.
I've stated from the jump, Maluach or trade down

I just don't think we're leaking our draft board like that, or that they'd view this pick with such a singular purpose. We've never done that.

The Raps also have pick 39 so they need to evaluate basically everyone projected in the top 40.

Newell is not a center and Wolf doesn't play like one either. I really hope the rumors of our interest are smoke. Would much prefer a bet on Wang or Reynaud. At least I can see the upside with those two.

Count me delusional then and now still. I don't buy these reports, Raptors haven't been linked before based on any leaking. Scottie Barnes was linked because he fit the style and size of a player Masai likes.

I have zero problem adding either Wolf nor Newell with a late first. I have a huge problem giving up the value of #9 to fill that need. Move up from #39 to the pick needed to get a back-up C makes a lot more sense.

Trading back means you're giving up on potential talent JUST to fill a team need, and it's guaranteed someone really good will be drafted in between where we are and where we end up. I hate trading back on principle, but I hate it even more in our position.

Perhaps not in precise order, but my conversations with team executives and agents have revealed a top eight that has formed in the eyes of many front offices that appears to be nearing consensus status.

We repeat: The exact order after Flagg and Harper remains TBD, but numerous league executives who specialize in gathering draft intelligence have conveyed that Baylor freshman VJ Edgecombe, Rutgers forward Ace Bailey, Texas scorer Tre Johnson, Oklahoma point guard Jeremiah Fears, Duke freshman Kon Kneuppel and Blue Devils big man Khaman Maluach are the six players commanding the most interest … although Bailey is indeed no longer seen as the top-three lock he once was.

"If it's not those eight [in the top eight], it will be seven of those eight,” said one Eastern Conference executive.

Newell seems like a NBA player, maybe not a good one, but one who will at least be an average rotation guy. His value is probably around late teens to 20s for me.

I don't like Wolf very much, his shooting numbers are actually really bad, but I guess he takes a lot so there's highlights of him hitting a bunch. He also turns it over way too much. His defense is probably better than consensus though. Rebounding projects as okay to decent.

Wolf looks amazing in highlights, but every time I actually watched him play he looked terrible. If we want to take Danny Wolf, we might as well sign Mamu to a contract instead.

I honestly see Wolf as a second rounder, but I view the 2nd round as starting around pick 20. If you get a decent back-up, you did well. Wolf does enough things well and has some unicorn appeal. Newell looks like a hustle big.

While monitoring Durant discussions, the Raptors have continued to bring in top talent ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft. League sources tell RG that Nolan Traore, a projected first-round guard, completed a workout with the Raptors on Monday. The team has also evaluated Tre Johnson, Derik Queen, Jase Richardson and Collin Murray-Boyles, among other projected first-round prospects, as part of its broader pre-draft process.

Aren't these the guys that admitted they interviewed with the Raptors at the combine? This seems like league sources is just someone collecting the same information we all have online.

I was hoping he'd measure better, looks like a tweener 6'9 height without shoes and 6'11 wingspan. Probably a solid bench big unless he shoots it well from 3, i'd like him more if he had legit C size

I don't think Nolan admitted anywhere that he interviewed with the Raps... so that scoops deserves some credit.

Pacers really dragged their nuts across out FOs face with that Pascal trade.
