I'm gonna start a separate Dream Team thread because I love debating this.

Wade and Kobe are both on the downturn and MJ would have the clear edge, but Harden would be there too.

Also the idea of Pippen vs Lebron or Durant makes me giddy. I would love to be able to see that.

Besides I think we all know the out come. Kobe gets to go up against Jordan. Kobe attempts to take 100 shots, team loses.

Prime Jordan versus post prime Kobe would be pants wettingly hilarious.

Stockton would hack the hell out of Westbrook and the refs wouldn't call it.

You have two of the best perimeter defenders ever in Pip and Jordan. Drexler was a very good defender with length. Magic knew how to defend. He'd force his man to shoot jumpers just like he did when he played.

Beyond that, you have D-Rob at center. He's one of the best defensive bigs in history. He averaged 4.5 blocks in 1991-92 (DPOY). Ewing averaged 3.0 (2nd team All-D).

Westbrook and Rose would blow by anybody on the DT roster.

Kevin Love would give Barkley a hard time too.

In what way? Love can stretch the floor offensively, but it isn't like Barkley didn't have a ton of experience with that during that era. Love defensively would get destroyed by Barkley's power/quickness post game.

Are people arguing that a current olympic team could beat the Dream Team?

Give me Dream Team minus 20 in every game.

All I'm saying is both teams are loaded and I think Chandler, Davis and Howard would hold their own.

Westbrook can blow by anyone on any roster, but he's still kind of a knucklehead.

LOL. I literally meant he knew how to play defense. It isn't like he was a clueless defender like Drew Gooden. He just had limitations.

He knew how to play to his strengths. If he were to guard Westbrook, for example, he'd know how to play off of him while still being able to challenge jumpers (for the most part). He was very good at forcing the opposing point to take off the dribble jumpers because it seemed like it was always there for them. He also understood team defensive principles which would be very important on a team so loaded with outstanding defenders.

So? They'd have two of the greatest help defenders in history waiting in the lane for them, and it's not like they score 50 a night on great efficiency now despite the almost complete lack of great help defenders in the current NBA.

Plus we have no idea if post reco Rose will ever be as explosive as pre reco Rose.

MJ? Not a chance. Jordan routinely checked exceptional PGs back then. See the Finals the following season against KJ.

Davis? Are you serious Neb? Next Olympics, sure.

Watching Jordan accept a challenge defensively is probably the highlight of my basketball watching life. Neb needs to pull out the VCR and watch some tape.

He'd still only be 23 going against 29 year old monsters.

I know, I just meant he'd get the schooling of his life from that list of DT bigs - if Jordan, Pippen, Magic, Drexler et al hadn't already fouled him out.
