I asked Melo why not use extension to force trade, he said he didn't want to do it like that. Also said he didn't want to be a rental.

So he doesn't want to come to New York...

LOL

Melo is b*tchmade

easier to say when we dont have a 65 mill offer on the table

You guys that are so willing to give up Gallo, Chandler and maybe even Fields need to relax. In Donnie we trust.

Honestly - I feel like Fields is over-rated by this board. I would rather include him then Gallo for sure. Gallo is only getting better and I feel like trading him now is selling low. Definitely no Mozgov and no Gallo in my trade offer.

I like Fields but he could go in the right deal, but even though Gallo is better to me than Fields Id keep Fields cause he can legitimately play the 2, and Gallo and Melo cant.
Trust but verify.

Sometimes I just don't understand you guys. Instead of envisioning how good we could be, how good we need to be if we could hold on the Gallo, you guys are treating him like he is irrelevant.

Common sense IMO says he is not only is Gallo relevant, but he may be the difference between us being an "Altanta hawks" or being something more, way more.

He may be the difference (if we can use him as trade bait for Paul, Deron, D.Howard) between being a "good team" and being a contender. I just don't get some of you guys here.... WHY THE F SHOULD WE EVER BID AGAINST OURSELVES?

Isn't that what we pay Walsh for? Or do we pay Walsh to just give away talent because the other team makes crazy demands from a position of weakness.

gallo for paul/howard or deron? ROFL, so many teams could be that offer

why would paul come here if his boy melo isnt here?

deron is from the Tex area, and dallas has space in 2012..huge competition

bottome line is one cant talk about a 3rd star without getting the 2nd one first

You should learn to read. Your comprehension is terrible, and you misrepresent what people are saying to suit your own agenda.

He never said it was a straight up trade of Gallo for those guys. He was merely saying that he was an asset to use in such a trade.

Thank you!

What does Jerry West know? PHARMCAT KNOWS!!!!!
:D

Jerry West is a mastermind. He just co-signed Don. Give them Curry, Mason, Buke, Ronny and call it a day

Maybe they threaten to trade him to a team who doesn't care if he extends as long as he keeps his mouth shut

I guarantee that a lineup of Billups, Fields, Melo, Amare, MLE Center > Than any lineup built around our current team. What is wrong with you guys?

AMEN TO THIS! I TOTALLY AGREE! So, what's the prob with trading Gallo/Chandler/Felton/Curry/Pick for Melo/Billups?!?!?!

Because if you can have him for less, wouldn't you want to keep your assets? Denver is not in a rush to trade Melo now. They will be when the deadline gets closer. How about this scenario.

You trade Gallo/Chandler/Felton/AR/Curry for Melo/Billups/Carter and Billups won't report to the team as he stated.

Or

You trade Chandler/AR/Curry for Melo/Carter and keep the rest of the core together.

It's Gallo and Chandler or Felton swap. I don't see Donnie agreeing to both

fields.gallo.etc...those guys need new contracts in another year, which hurts their value....so even those 2 isnt enough

and yes, i want to know which other star player has given NY 7 months to get him to NY....i cant think of anyone in the last decade

I love how most of these new posters are flipping **** over not trading all of our assets for Melo. I can bet you 90% of them didn't start following the Knicks again until this offseason when we had a shot at Bron and landed Stat.

If you guys actually suffered through the Isiah era you may of had more perspective on what we're trying to build here. We've seen misery and now we've seen the light get brighter at the end of the tunnel. We're not settling for mediocrity and we sure as hell aren't settling for a middle-of-the-pack competitor. We're building a CONTENDER. And that means to get the best deal for us possible.

Flipping **** when the guy hasn't signed on the dotted line and 6 days remaining is just showing how bitchmade some of you are. Let the guy who has put us in this position who has 20+ years experience make the move in which he feels is best. There's nothing you or I can do or say about it...but a bitching fanbase only puts further pressure on him to get a deal done and gives Denver the leverage its looking to gain in this situation.

Stay the course!

Yes he does. He'd be going to a worse team for money, all because he was afraid to man up and do what had to be done. That would make him worse than Lebron.

I still don't think he's going to the Nets though. I'm just saying.
