You can't add extra players in a sign-and-trade. It's one for one.

With a sign-and-trade, you can go up to, but not over the $138.9m tax apron.
If we're at $133.9m now, we could take on a $10.3m contract in a sign-and-trade for Connaughton.

Obviously if we get rid of players like Wilson for nothing in return we can make more space to bring someone back.

Energy, hard worker, athletic dude who will always try hard. Good cutter. Will launch threes and every once in a while go 4/7 from 3PT. Good locker room guy.

Not a good ball handler, his high energy play can be a negative when he tries to block every shot and bites on every pump fake.

Pat is a great character guy, my favourite Pat move is when he overcommits defending the triple and jumps out of the gym flailing his hands like a wind up toy.

Coffee isn't helping here, I've woken up to a hilarious contract to Augustin, Bobby freaking Portis, whatever the hell is happening with Pat and Rumours of the demise of the Chuck. What the hell people?

Pat is a great character guy, my favourite Pat move is when he overcommits defending the triple and jumps out of the gym flailing his hands like a broken windmill.

My favourite is using every bit of his massive vert to aggressively sky for defensive rebounds (whether contested or not), like a grown man crushing the rebounding dreams of his 10 year old kids.

I don't know where these numbers are supposed to come from. I have us probably at $131,033,180 with 3 open roster spots including the dead cap of Leuer & Sanders.

Holiday's unlikely bonuses count against the hard cap.

What they're including is incentives in Jrue's contract. I've seen conflicting reports if those get charged to our cap after the trade. You know anything about that?

Basically in a trade all incentives are treated as likely. Once on the roster the unlikely incentives fall off the cap.

Looking at Jrue's incentive more closely his cap hit compared to last season could actually shrink.

He has:
  1. $4.7 million likely/unlikely Incentives (@BobbyMarks)
  2. $510K likely for playing in 66 games [reg/post], playing 2,075 minutes
  3. $255K likely for playing in 67 gamess [reg/post], averaging 7.3 AST and 3.15 REB
  4. $100k likely All-Defensive 2nd-Team [triggered 2018]
  5. TBD All-Star
  6. TBD makes Postseason
  7. TBD statistical bonus
  8. TBD All-NBA

according to https://www.spotrac.com/nba/new-orleans-pelicans/jrue-holiday-6316/

He averaged only 6.7 Assists so the second should become unlikely.
He wasn't named All-Defensive 2nd-Team so the third one should become unlikely.
We have made the Postseason so the sixth one should become likely but we don't know the figure.

Rest should stay the same.

You'll like him as a person and not much as a player, at least not for anything beyond scrap duty at the end of the rotation (rotation, not bench). He's all hustle, a good rebounder, will make some put backs, and hit a 3 on occasion, but when he's not actively doing one of those things he's utterly useless.

I actually think a team will appreciate him more when he's not played so much - including the Bucks. He shouldn't intimidate Buddy at all. Play him 15 mins a game and you'll like him, I'm guessing.

Also is he worth that price tag?

No.

I don't know how I feel subbing Ersan for Pat in the Bogi deal.

I actually don't think it's as clear and evident who is better anymore. Ersan for the first half of the season will look dramatically better, but this past season he completely fell apart by the end - pre-bubble, even. I wouldn't really get too worked up over either.

When his 3s are falling you will Love him , when he bricks them, cause of his nice shooting form and athleticism you will
say keep shooting them , next one will go in ... clank . But he is a hard worker , a really nice teammate, and a great dunker.
In that contract he is expensive for any contender, but for you its OK, he still has some upside to have a hot season.

Remember when Windhorst reported the other night that Brogdan wanted to come to Milwaukee and the Bucks wanted him?
