Hoping with guys like Kessler and Terry shooting up mocks, that it keeps pushing him down closer to 24. Hell, I'd even consider a 2028 pick swap with a team like Charlotte if they'd let us move up to 13 to nab him. I think next to Giannis, he's gonna be that good.

Yeah, I would absolutely be ecstatic if we got Tari. I wouldn’t bet against him becoming like a Gerald Wallace level player. He’d be insane next to Giannis.

Also potentially significant, Givony mentions two other draft prospects as garnering interest with our pick: Jake LaRavia and Andrew Nembhard.

Some other notable parts:
- Liddell, Beauchamp, and Terry were all available at our pick.
- Walker Kessler up to 19th in this mock.
- TyTy Washington and Kennedy Chandler went 21st and 22nd respectively for those that care about the PGs.

If the draft played out this way, and we didn’t take one of those three, I’d be pretty disappointed.

Then I would proceed to immediately buy into Jovic.

I haven’t really looked at nembhard before, but I do really like that he has a floater game. That’s the shot that will pretty much always be available in a Gianni’s pick n roll, and we just haven’t had guys who are adept at it.

Would be fine taking Jovic if he's there. Potential upside as a shot-creating 6'10 hybrid forward is worth it. Would be very unhappy if they took LaRavia or Nembhard. Two guys I'm sure many will see as "safe picks" but I simply see them as career G-leaguers.

I'd like Jovic as he's got the potential to become a high level offensive creator and one of my favorite thought experiments is big-big PnRs with Giannis and another big ball-handler.

Nembhard and LaRavia were both very good college players and I have significant reservations about whether anything they do can survive the transition to the pros. They both have a chance and I understand wanting to go for a guy who has established the ability to find and perform in a role, but I would be underwhelmed.

Would be furious if we drafted LaRavia or Nembhard with #24. Could easily trade down to get one of them IMO.

I'd take Jovic, Tari, Liddell, Terry, and others. I think at #24 there are really just guys that I absolutely don't want over guys that we need to get.

If the Bucks ended up with Eason or Beauchamp or Terry I'd be quite content. Exactly what this team needs is a versatile wing that can defend. Jovic would be fun, especially in games against the Nuggets when the announcers mix him up with Jokic 14 times.

Jovic would be cool. The other two dudes don't look like difference making NBA players.

We just really need a wing with some size, athleticism and length. We have way too many undersized guys asked to do too much, we need a Jerami Grant type body on this roster IMO

We do, but that's not something you can really force at #24.

Seeing Nikola Jovic's name always throws me off. It's so close to Nikola Jokic.

I'd honestly be surprised if he isn't taken before 24.

Agreed with this, though I gotta admit Givony constantly comparing Jovic to Bjelica is not at all exciting to me considering the Warriors were scared to play him until very recently.

If you just want someone who's gonna be a sure-fire defender and athletic, switchable wing, then Peyton Watson is probably your guy. Problem is, he might legitimately be the worst offensive player in the league by a wide margin. He makes Matisse Thybulle look like a sharpshooter.

I would love to draft Jovic or Liddell in that situation

True, but I think there are enough of those body types to get one in the second round. Just scanning nbadraftroom, looking at that 6'7-6'8 with a couple extra inches of wingspan and over 200 lbs. Not saying any of these guys are good, but finding one to develop sure seems like a need on this roster
Kendall Brown
Payton Watson
Josh Minnot
Gabe Brown
Dereon Seabrown EDIT: Misread this guys size

Yup Tari is the dream fit for us. I’m assuming we will take Kessler or the next Thon and then the Spurs will take Procida at 25 lol

https://www.denverstiffs.com/2022/5/27/23143747/2022-nba-draft-profile-vince-williams-jr-scouting-report

Height: 6’5.5”

Wingspan: 7’0”

Weight: 202.6 lbs

Age: 21 (8/30/2000

Vince Williams started his college career as a near non-shooter, but during his junior season he took a leap to become a good shooter. Over his last two seasons at VCU, he shot 39.7% from the 3 point line on 4.9 attempts per game. He is very confident in his shot, especially off the catch. He shot 36% off catch and shoot jump shots this past season, and 42.1% on unguarded catch and shoot jumpers. Those percentages don’t do his shot justice though, and given easier shots with a lesser role — he should be a knockdown shooter at the next level.

His off-ball movement and shot relocation is also excellent as well. He is a smart mover when he doesn’t have the ball in his hands — often getting loose and getting open shots for himself, or forcing the defense to close out on him. It creates advantages for the offense regardless, and that’s one thing he’s great at. He gets shoe-horned into being a 3 and D prospect (which he fills the role of fine), but his true value comes in his advantage creation.

Off-Ball Defense

Vince Williams employs his 7 foot wingspan and quick hands to be a disruptive off-ball defender. He has a great feel for when to help, and when not to. The steal and block rates he put up were numbers that NBA players like Matisse Thybulle, Draymond Green, and Danny Green put up in their respective college careers. He is able to provide steals out of pick and roll coverage too. He is able to create turnovers like few others have, and is someone who will be able to be a positive impact defensively right away.

Granted, Roddy is a bit short, but he does provide all of these things. 8-)

I have zero clue about this draft but from reading some mocks I still find it baffling how many poor archetypes are being drafted.
