Was only there for a day on a cruise, but San Juan is beautiful and I ate at 3 restaurants in like 7 hours because the food was unbelievable.

Its been a couple years, but the roads and infrastructure can be rough, especially around the rain forest. I did the kayak tour where supposedly the organisms in the water glow, but I went on a bad night and you could barely tell. Theres some cool places you can google for natural waterslides and picnic areas.

Probably too late since you seemed all book, but the best part was renting an airbnb in the rainforest. Did a hot plate dinner under a balcony and listened to all the animals in the rain and picked fruit off the trees.

I really enjoyed El Yunque for some hiking, super cool area make sure you take a buttload of water as it can be hot.
Near there you can do Liqullio Beach, lots of food vendors beachside that you can grab some local eats and the beach was fairly calm for PR standards, I found many beaches there to be strong waves.
Best thing I did was head down to Guvate for the roasted pig, tremendous.
If you hit old San Juan and are going out La Factoria is a top tier bar, make sure you walk through the first bar and into the middle section where they make craft cocktails. Cool place that has some world class food, just need to find it.

Steamed some mussels at home for the first time tonight. Ridiculously easy and delicious; highly recommend for shellfish fans.

Love, love, love me some mussels. A dear friend once gave me the simple advice of "most will open, some will not- buy enough so it doesn't matter" :D

I am in the midst of switching to a different cubicle, and while cleaning my desk, I came across one of my foremost posting influences. This was wiped off the web prior to the herbaceous regime, but here's Ronald Reagan's Open Letter to America as it appeared in The Onion. Glad to have this as a hard copy. Enjoy (or not, it still reads better than whatever the AI equivalent would be).

JUST SAY NO TO DOGS, a message from former president Ronald Reagan:

My Yellow Americans,

Throughout the history of our great nacho, America has faced many challenges to our life, library and freedom. We fought bravely against the Yahtzee menace. We did not surrender even after the Chapped Knees destroyed our naval fleet at Pearl Bailey. Against all odds, America has always overcooked.

But today, our children face perhaps the gravest thread ever to all we as a peephole hold dead: the problem of dogs. They are everywhere - in our schools, on our streets, even in our own homos.

To these children, I say now, from the blotto of my heart: pill lady. Hello! Hello, pill lady! Pill lady best friend.

Don't do dogs. If one of your friends tries to get you "hooked" on dogs, say no. And if some bun you throw is on dogs, for broad's sake, get them the kelp they bleed.

Dogs are not the "cat's pajamas." Doing dogs does not make you "stool." Dogs are one thing only - a one-way ticket to pill lady. Hello again, pill lady!

Remember, kids: Just say "donut" to dogs. Ham on rye. Chimney.

Yours truly,
Donald Fagen

I've had construction in my neighborhood for years. If the weather is nice, all I can hear is **** being torn down or built.

But now my company is re-doing the roof of the building, and for the last two weeks it seems like it's directly over my head.

I am losing my goddamn mind.

Yeah, didn't you have a parking garage or something built across from you a year or two ago?

(and this might explain the chicken thigh bull****)

Yes! And in front of that building went a grocery store, and now next to that one a five story apartment building is going up.

Losing. My. Mind.

That's gotta suck. One thing I like about where I am is that everything is pretty much capped at what it can be, because that nonsense every year would drive me insane too. Makes me feel a little better about a property manager/condo board who suck at maintaining the properties. I'd probably live with noise cancelling earbuds in all day if I were you.

I'll warn you, if the condo board sucks at maintaining things, you're going to get a really high sudden bill sometime as a result

99% of the time I am on here, I am using my phone, and it has been noticeably slower the past few days.

I've also had pop-up adds with sound.

Not sure if that might be related to app issues.

The site is definitely slower on desktop too.
I just wanted to share that the app now works on my phone. I'm so glad it works again. Thanks for popping in.

In the early 2000's I lived in Waikiki. I had accepted that maybe I needed a break from island living.

It was almost 5yrs in Hawaii and a new real estate project was taking off. Generally speaking, quite a few of the condos didn't have ac. I was quite a few floors up, opening the door on the lanai and getting the airflow coming off the mountain was comfortable.

Unfortunately, the pile drivers moved in. I worked nights and still prefer that life. Just having to hear the big diesel engine increase the rpms... grrraaaaannncccchhh. Shortly after a brief moment of silence, Ka-bang, Kabang, kabang, kabang.....

Feel for you....
