What's the underachieving thing about?

The last person in the nba that can be called an underachiever is giannis.

Stephen A said Giannis needs another ring or he’ll have underachieved for his career.

Stephen called him that while playing solitaire during an NBA finals game he was watching.

He's says a lot of dumb things, might be one of his most idiotic statements.

A kid wiping down a dirty gym floor before was good enough to play, sharing shoes with his brother, an undocumented immigrant minor hawking stuff on the street so his family had food to eat.... Has underachieved?

Wow. I don't understand why anyone would listen to him.

How excited we were to see him play in Summer League. Pretty sure the majority of us saw the potential tied into the story. But the story turned out soo much better than any of us dreamed.

Giannis is the best example of what adding bulk and strength to your body can actually do to your shot mechanics. He was so smooth on that jumper when he was just a tall lanky athlete. Then over time he turned into the Incredible Hulk and he lost his smooth release and touch on his jumper. Maybe in hindsight it was a pick your poison situation and we bash Kidd for “ruining” his shot. Kidd probably deserves more credit for realizing that the right path was the direction of player trajectory that made the most sense. Look at the situation today, it’s fair to say turning him into a more versatile version of Shaq turned out better than trying to turn him into a bulkier version of Kevin Durant like we all clamored for for years. A strong, physical and bulky version of KD likely never exists. I’m just grateful I got to experience watching Giannis as a Buck these last 12 years, he’s been nothing short of a revelation for me. Never leave, Giannis. Never leave.

I am not sure it was the bulking. I remember they specifically mentioned they were going to change/improve his mechanics but they tried to do it without getting a top shot doctor. Then he changed shot doctor again. So from that point it just seems he tries to think how to shoot.

This is where I sometimes take a slight issue with Giannis. I know he uses all this as leverage to pressure the front office into having some urgency but in return he could publicly do a little more to squash all the speculation.

He definitely sounded like he did not want to answer that question.

He's protecting himself by being non-committal. If he says "yes for the rest of my career" he would look like he's going back on his word if he left. It makes tons of sense.

Is it wrong that I’ve never heard of Speed before today?

He doesn't have to commit to anything for the rest of his career but he could say "I plan to be in Milwuakee next season and as long as they remain committed to maximizing our chances to win I'm happy there" or something to that effect.

I've heard of him but this was the first time I've caught any of his stream. Lasted about 2 minutes before I turned it off. Just obnoxious kids being kids. I don't think Giannis will want to be a streamer after today

Not really. As if he recruited Turner to play there without him. And Shams said he was monitoring the 47th pick.

But unfortunately Giannis being a little sly is going to be the fodder ESPN needs, & that's where PP's "ugh" is apropos.
