Miami, whose bench is Juwan Howard, Mike Miller & Norris Cole says Hi.

Nets would DOMINATE with Howard.

Soo the Big Four makes them automatically championship material? Lol? Don't get me wrong Orlando's roster needs some work, but I don't see the hype in Brooklyn's Roster with the addition of Dwight Howard.

Yes, they would be championship material. Because I witnessed Dwight alone carry Vince Carter and Hedo Turkoglu to the ECF back to back years.... Joe Johnson alone would be the best teammate he's ever had, let alone Deron friggin' Williams.

And our roster needs just "some work"? LOL.

I remember those times. Struggling against Philly in the first round and then demolishing them in the game Dwight was suspended for. Good times.

because Atlanta's market is soooo much better than Orlando's.... and CP3 will leave LA Clips where he has good talent to come to Atl

You don't think Chris Paul will leave Blake Griffin for Dwight Howard & Josh Smith? C'mon man stop being a homer.

Never said that ... but it wasn't D12 alone. That's revisionist history. $hard as big part of that team during that run. Was it a coincidence that when he had knee issues the team went downhill?

Wait a minute. It is debatable that Shard in his Prime was as good as Joe Johnson in his Prime.

Can't win what? Then he leaves $20 million on the table without the in incentive of the market while hoping that Paul signs there....keep it coming this is too easy.

Too bad Rashard wasn't with us in his "prime". His prime was from 04-07.

D-Will + D12 instantly makes them title contenders in the East. Add a 6-time all-star in Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace and that team is better than the Heat imo.

i just wonder which of the two scenarios Magic fans would prefer ?

Nets offer: Lopez and picks for Dwight
the Nets offer a 20ppg center, but the sign and trade of Lopez will whip out the Magic's cap space.

Celtics offer: Fab Melo and two draft picks for Dwight (rental)
the Celtics offer is low but will enable the Magic to have cap space for 2013 and 2014, and gives the Magic a better chance to tank in 2013.

so it is basically Brook Lopez vs Cap Space

Jemele Hill ‏@jemelehill
Would rather lose Dwight for nothing, get the cap space & a shot at a top-5 draft pick (because the team will be awful) than take a bad deal

Anyone saying D12/Crash/JJ/D-Will would not be contenders is borderline delusional. Don't get caught up in the "bench" talks, all you need is an 8 man rotation and those 4 stars make up half of it. It wouldnt be hard to find a couple of vets for the minimum along with Tyshaun Taylor and the international player they just signed for the 3 mil MLE.

List of preference:

1. Trade Howard + contracts to Rockets for expirings, young players, draft picks

2. Trade Howard to Lakers for Bynum

3. Trade Howard to Hawks for Horford + Teague and picks

4. Let Howard walk and get cap space

5. Trade Howard to the Nets for Lopez's package

I don't see how we end up doing the Nets deal, makes no sense. One thing about the Lakers deal is i think it would be better for the Magic to take back an unextended Bynum rather than have him extend first. First of all, he will not extend before the end of the season because he leaves money on the table. Second, Bynum has given even indication that money and his role on the team will be his most important factors when choosing to sign somewhere next season. Magic can offer most money and to build around him, if we trade for him and we choose to he will re-sign with us. The last good point that makes getting him on an expiring contract is that we get to see how his knee holds up this season all while fielding offers for him. We could, re-sign him at the end of the season, let him walk and get cap space, trade him... lots of options here.

Also, if the Rockets are shy on making the first trade because they think Howard wont re-sign then we can just mix the first and second trade giving Bynum to the Rockets, Howard to the Lakers, and getting cap space and picks in return.

The moral of this story is that the movie Pearl Harbor was just absolutely awful.

Doubtful. Battier is far better defender than Wallace. Wade is far better than Joe Johnson. Lebron is far better than Deron Williams (different positions but they have essentially the same role). Get a big scrubby center that gives Dwight problems (we know there are quite a few of those) and really what advantage does the Nets have at all. I didn't even mention Bosh.

You got good words per minute typing skills. But little sense.

Not saying the Nets won't be contenders. Any team with two all-stars + Howard anchoring the defense is going to have a chance against the Heat/Thunder.

The championship run team had a very good bench. Hedo was on a contract year and balling, JJ iirc was also contract year, CLee was ballin as a rookie, Peaches hit his peak, Lewis' knee hadn't exploded yet, Alston also was giving it his all and before that Nelson was having an all-star year where even Kobe said that he was legit.

The ECF was another great team. But they both shared the same weakness. No go-to scorer. Are Joe Johnson and Deron Williams proven go-to scorers. IMO no. If they are, then I doubt they are as "clutch" as the Lebron, Wade, Bosh combo.
