Dallas and Houston seem to have their list as:

Parsons
Ariza
Deng
Stephenson

Now is the time to go all out for Lance imo.

Ariza signed with the Rockets today. Not sure if they still have the room to match for Parsons, but it looks doubtful.

Cheers LP!

It's 8:36am here and I just got on the internetz!

Houston-Ariza
Dallas-Parsons
Utah-Hayward

Miami-Deng?
Charlotte-Stephenson?

I don't really want Lance much but if we do get him it better be for closer to 4/40. If you are going to take such a big risk you don't pay a premium.

Sounds like that might be accurate.

I just want us to sign someone at this point.

I don't mind bringing him in for a chat. Letting Kemba and Al also meet with him and then talk it over and see about an offer. If they are not on board after they meet with him it should be a no.

Every other team has spent their cap space and we might be the only team that actually puts a premium on Stephenson's skillset.

Deng to Miami seems like a given imo.

Napier/Wade/Deng/McBob/Bosh

They'd surprise with that team.

Unless Chicago bring Deng "home", which they may.

Not if he will wreck the team. Signing a guy who was a cancer in a locker room is risky.

I can't help but to feel like a signing of Stephenson for Cho will be the equivalent of the analogy as if Cho was a toddler being told to share his toy (control/cap space) with his younger sibling (Stephenson) and Jordan was the parent

I agree but at the point of Hayward's albatross being matched, Lance is worth the risk now imo.

4/40.

We're going to sign Lance to a very reasonable contract. He wants to leave indy and we're basically the only team in the east with cap space and interest in him

Allegedly. I refuse to believe that we have interest in him until I hear/read about him visiting Charlotte for a interview/meeting

In the beginning of the free-agent process, I thought it was a no-brainer, and believed the false reports about our serious interest in Stephenson just because it sounded logical, but no avail really yet

I still think we're going to have to compete with whichever of Houston or Dallas didn't get Parsons. We MIIIIIIIIIGHT have to deal with Phoenix as well, but other than that, I really don't know I see anywhere else for him. My guess is 4/50 with a player option on the final year.

I hope the Gasol to Chicago deal is actually official.

One horse race for Lance then imo.

At this point they're just trying to get rid of Boozer w/o amnesty so they won't have to keep paying him

Some chatter beginning to go around that Houston will match the offer for Parsons as well.

While I'm skeptical of your toddler analogy, I agree here. The fit seems natural and obvious, but it's surprising how little we've heard.

If I'm a team like Philly that isn't planning to use cap space, I'm all over this and trying to get McDermott off Chicago. Something like KJ McDaniels, Tony Wroten, and two 2015 2nds for Booz and McBuckets. That would be a major steal for Philly if they managed it. McBuckets would probably score 25ppg there too

Cheers JDR!

Maybe we go the double whammy and sign Lance and make a bid on Boozer, after they amnestise him.

Is it possible to trade Boozer?

Executive of the year if that happens for GarPax.

How is that possible? How much did they clear off the books before Parsons signed his offer sheet?

Return to Charlotte Hornets
