100 percent this. Very overrated skill. Jalen brown, KD, Kawhi, derozan, keep going on and on. Obviously the step up to like Cp3 level is a different story but he doesn’t need to do that

He had zero turnovers too. Showing the ability to be careful with the ball is nice for a young guy like him. The shoot first mentality he exhibits turns some TOs into shot attempts which while are sometimes low quality shots, they'll eventually become better attempts and more FTs. He's going to be good and impactful to winning and I'm betting it's going to be next year. He'll add something significant to his skill package in the summer with his work ethic.

Let Tyrese cook next year. Unless we get Dame Lilliard, we should hand Maxey the keys and see what he can do in 30+ mpg.

All of this is dependant on him getting a jumpshot. But i think he's in the right frame of mind to do it and his mechanics are also good.

I saw enough this season and obviously the coaching staff is high on the kid. I bet they told him if he attacks the offseason, he's on the inside track for a major role.

We may already have the point guard we're looking for!

Our boy smell blood in the water.

He’s gonna take that lead guard spot while Ben is with his defense attorney pleading for mercy with Morey and EB in Chicago

I´m hoping Tyrese improves a lot in his second season. He´s a hardworker for sure. We already saw his shooting improving in his first season, and his defense is kinda good nowadays too. With a full offseason training regime, i can see him starting mid season( if we dont swap Simmons for a leading guard). If his 3 pt ball and his 15 ft pullup jumper improves, he will be deadly, since his drives and floaters are pretty good already.

We all gotta do our daily prayers for lord Muscala, who gifted us Maxey!

Here's my question: who fits next to Tyrese?

Is the backcourt partner a PG or SG?

Tyrese seems to be a volume scorer in the sense that he can get to the lane at will (seemingly) and finish in traffic. I think he'll get better at drawing fouls and getting to the line, and his PPG will go up from that. He's an average catch and shoot guy, and a decent pull up jumper guy, but definitely not consistent enough yet that you'd want him taking 8 deep range shots per game. He is clutch though, and appears to have a bit of a closer mentality, which is great. But he doesn't seem to have great passing skills, vision, etc. His defense is improving but my guess is he would struggle against quicker guards and also against taller SGs. And he may not be the best in the fast break with pushing the pace and finding the right reads for passes. So he's probably a 20+ppg scorer (somewhat efficiently if I had to guess) with limited defense, limited assist capability, and limited range as of now.

So who's the perfect ideal fit next to him?

Lonzo Ball? Lonzo can handle playmaking, passing, running the offense, defending multiple positions, fast break pace, deep 3pt shooting, etc.

Malcolm Brogdon? Malcolm is a 6'5, 225lb 3 and D guard who has PG skills. But is he quick enough to cover the faster PGs of the league?

If you were tasked with building a roster around Joel and Tyrese as your 1-2 punch, keeping Tobias and bringing Seth off the bench what does that look like?

Embiid/Howard/Reed
Harris/?
Green/Thybulle/Korkmaz
?/Curry/Joe
Maxey/Hill

Fill in the blanks. Simmons for who?

A big SG in the Klay mound would be perfect. Goddamn Huerter or Hunter would be nice.... or better yet Bridges and slide him to SG who cares it really is postionless.

We suck at drafting for the team needs lol. Watch for Theo he has something. I just know whoever we let go and they actually have something will be something.

Why would anyone draft Korkmaz or TLC or Anderson? They are doo doo.

It’s probably envy but so many teams are leapfrogging us because we don’t know how to basketball lol

We have an elite big guy... okay let’s get non athletic wings, wings that can’t hit water if they fell of a boat and more big guys yeah that’ll work.

Combo or two guards, 2x wing, do it all shooting PF, and Ayton archetype as the center.

From now on anyone over 6”6” wait your turn we have PG’s and SG’s to acquire.

Dude Embiid hasn’t played with a quality SG or a quality PG yet. That blows my mind lol

Lonzo Ball would fit really well next to Maxey, IMO
always a jump shot away.

Embiid-Maxey 1-2 punch? Really?

Maxey is 20 years old. I'm all for giving him 25-30 mpg as 6th man next year, which would be a huge step up from his rookie season. But Embiid is likely at his peak right now. We need to get the most out of that. The 2 in the 1-2 punch should be a more experienced player and that's who we should be looking to get in a trade for Simmons.

Just don’t trade Tyrese. Glad Morey mentioned significant playing time for all three of this year’s draft class. We could use an infusion of young, cheap talent.

Of Simmons and Maxey, the latter is the one far more likely to become a star in the league if he's traded.

Great video. Didnt know his mid range jumper was that good already. He's the second rookie in mid range fg % this year. Another point is his pnr potential. He's already pretty good at it, and it will only improve .

If his jumper keeps improving and he can adapt himself to the pg position he can be a really special player.
