I've been to the one on Hwy 100 in West Allis, twice. First time was really really good, the second time was just alright. I think I got the meat sampler twice and the potatoes. I remember the sausage being the best thing both times.

Thanks. That's the one I'll be near later today.

So, did you eat there? Did you enjoy?

Yes I did. I had pulled pork, cornbread and Mac/Cheese. I enjoyed it. Saw someone with ribs and they looked good. As did the brisket. I'll definitely go back. The price was reasonable but doesn't include sides, just some cornbread. It was $4 for a side and a drink, $5 for 2 sides and a drink. I wasn't hungry enough for 2 sides, my total was around $13. Reasonable.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I got both doses of Pfizer, no issues or side effects whatsoever, and then a couple of weeks after the second one I got every single one of the Covid symptoms, and at the same time my right leg swelled up below the knee. Took the Covid test and went straight to hospital, the Covid test came back negative and they put me on IV antibiotics for the leg. As it turns out I had a rash, I must have scratched it in my sleep (because I don't remember ever scratching it), it got infected, and all the flu-like symptoms was just my body fighting the infection. I never knew that an infected leg can cause you to cough and sneeze and lose your sense of smell, but there you go, learn something new every day.

Much better now, but it took 3 courses of antibiotics to fix the leg. It was my first time in hospital and I couldn't hate it more.

Watch the weather report. Get a dry bag. Flask of whiskey. Have fun.

Also Zion is likely overrun with people right now, so it might not be prime. Was at glacier 2 weeks ago and couldn’t get in due to the sheer number of people. Apparently needed reservations to get into the park, so check on that. Never needed reservations before. And Zion always busier tha glacier.

Also check fire status and air quality, particularly if you have reactive airway disease.

Was in Utah last month. I've been to all 5 National Parks before so this time just did Bryce Canyon and all of the Escalante area. Zion is too crowded. But the Narrows is worth it. It's all about rain with that hike (or any slot canyon). I'd take the first shuttle in the morning. There can be lines just to start the hike.

ETA since you're camping you are hiking it top/down? That's the best way to do it. You'll avoid the cluster ****.

It's a great hike.

Believe we'l be shuttling down and two of us are early risers so should be the first shuttle. Camping in Watchman.

I'd wear normal trail runners, personally. They are designed to grip wet rocks. Your feet will be soaked no matter what you try to do.

And go figure, I just got a 2nd interview with a company the day before school starts. Not sure what I'm going to do if I get offered a job.

I might bring mine but they're pretty beatup. The shoes I have had a specific review regarding the hike and they're more of a hiking/water shoe. I'm fairly certain i'll be wiping out regardless

There are several places in Springdale that rent gear for the Narrows.

Sean Lock died recently. He was one of my favorite comedians for the past several years, and I wish I had known of him sooner. He's British and never really broke through here, but he was known for a couple BBC game shows that he was just incredible on.

This is one of my favorite bits of his. Everyone should check out 8 Out of 10 Cats and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Both have a plethora of clips on YouTube, and both are spectacular. Both are also on BritBox.

I've been watching so many of his videos lately.

"Tiger wants a pint" was a highlight

And his clip about "His greatest achievement" which includes an extremely amusing comment towards Rachel Riley at the end of the clip

Ohhh that last one is also when he won "Rectum of the Year"

Roisin's face when he first brings it up. Two of my favorite shows are 8 out of 10 Cats and Cats does Countdown.

Anyone have a good chicken tender recipe for an air fryer? I’ve seen some pretty brilliant stuff from you guys.

Have never seen these shows or heard of this man, but these clips are delightful. Rest in peace, fellow traveler.
